< report >I got a physical copy of the game, installed it normally, but whenever I try to run it, the game window just closes without any error message...
Any suggestions?

< report >I've had some minor problems with some games I bought in Japan last time.
For one it was that I lacked an updated patch. I'd recommend just checking the webpage if there's something like that. (My computer refused to access the page so I had to get a IRL friend download a patch for a porn game, go me!)

In another case I had to run the installer in compatibility-mode or whatnot its called. In most cases I have to run the game executable in compatibility-mode.
I'd try reinstalling it, but in compatibility mode. Do note that I cannot guarantee this to work, but I hope it will! Otherwise someone else can probably come up with a better solution.

< report >Thanks for the fast answer, mate.
I already tried using compatibility mode both when installing and running the game, still no changes.
I tried checking the company's webpage for any patch, but seems like they haven't updated their website for the last years now, and I can't get the 1.01 update patch... though, the patch notes don't say anything regarding the problems I have.

Now, since I was really looking forward to this game, and I happen to know a bit of IT, I managed to run the game in a Japanese Windows XP Virtual Machine.... Had no issues at all.
Looks like there's just no compatibility for Win10, and the RUNE/CAGE won't do anything about it anymore, so.... eh

< report >the digital copies have updated compatibility-- i've bought quite a few cage games from dmm that didn't work from the package version on win8, and they work fine.

< report >#3 How were you able to run the game in the Virtual Box? I made a thread because I also can't run the game and I already tried by making the Virtual Box of Windows XP (32 bits) with the japanese language installed and then changing the regional language to japanese as well but I was still unable to run it. This is what I get link

< report >It says to please insert the original disc. That's the pathetic drm that some old games had where you had to leave the disc inside the machine in order to play it. There exists no cd cracks for some games just to get rid of this, but it's not necessary and this game might be too obscure for someone to make one for it.

So did you try running it while the disc image is mounted?

Edit: I just saw your other thread and holy shit, this was the digital copy? My computer was Win 10 64 bit when I played this game, if that helps, however to me it sounds more like a Windows 10 update broke this game. I think I'll try it again when I get home from work tonight, see what happens.Last modified on 2021-04-15 at 17:11

< report >#7 Your comment gave me an idea, and now I feel a bit stupid to not have thought about it before... But yeah, I searched for a crack for the game and FINALLY I can play the game now. I really appreciate the help.

If someone were to read this and encounters the same problem as me, since I can't provide any links for cracks and I wouldn't like anyone to waste hours with all the hassle like me, I'll just say that you search for a certain website that is called "anime" plus other stuff and .com, and there search for the game and in one of the threads you'll find the crack for it.

< report >For those of you from the future reading these threads about this game, I just checked and the copy I bought from link (nsfw) still works on Windows 10 without a crack or anything. I don't know where sterpein got it from. It's also selling at 50% off there, I think until April 30th.

Didn't have to download it and check after his/her problem was fixed, but I had to because honestly I miss this game and wanted to use Garbro to get the CG set and then Waifu2x it. Although I bought the game after seeing Rion, I actually liked Natsuyu the most because she's subject of bondage sex, spanking and petplay, all without the ridiculous dungeon costumes. She wears a harness once but there's still nipples and so much skin showing that it's cool. In fact often it still involves her wearing her lacy white panties, where the front is transparent, the vagina area is thick and there are flowers in between.

Yeah I didn't have to mention that, but I said in my review long ago that this game isn't that great because it gets repetitive. Yet now I realize that hardly any other VNs I've read can push this button for me. (bondage involving normal underwear, nudity, and consent) Sterpein I hope you'll enjoy this one.

< report >Personally I bought it from Dlsite but that was a long time ago (yeah, I still have over more than 50 games on the wishlist for me to read...), like... I'm pretty sure Windows 10 wasn't even released yet, and anyway my desktop which is also some years old already as well has Windows 7 (and I like Windows 7 so I don't think I'll switch to 10 anytime soon). That said, sometimes I had problems regarding user administration in my desktop so that could be, but I tried running the game both inside program files and outside and with and without admin rights and I still couldn't it so no idea... But from what I've been reading from other people in the internet having the game I know at the very least that I wasn't the only getting those error messages.

Anyway, as for the game itself I was kinda interested myself because... Well, I've realized I haven't really read any eroge with shota, but I haven't seen any H-scene yet from where I left it. All I can say is that regarding the characters you actually mention, seeing Rion made me remember I actually have to finish reading Wanko to Kurasou as well, and I could say the same when I saw Natsuyu immediately after with Karin from Musumaker, although I don't expect this eroge to be even close from what that eroge is... And I think that will be a good thing tbh.

For now, what I can say is that the game seems indeed too repetive with having to answer all those quizzes to teach the grls all the time, although I don't dislike it as much as the fact that you've to repeat the process so many times. Other than that, it has been quite a time after the last time I played an old eroge like this one so I think I'll definitely enjoy the ride again. I actually wish I could find more good old eroges like Imouto Pet, that shit got me so hard in more ways than one, and can't say i disliked those magical girls vibes it had even though it doesn't have anything of the sort lol

EDIT: Also, I really appreciate you mentioned Garbro. Didn't know this was actually a thing and I think I'll definitely try to make use of it :PLast modified on 2021-04-16 at 19:37

< report >Alright, so I started reading this again, and I think I must ask if there's a guide somewhere with the correct answers to the quizzes you get when teaching the girls. I've no trouble when it comes to questions related to general knowledge like regarding the World War II, but I'm getting a bit annoyed when I get some questions like how many prefectures does Japan have, which I know they are easy for anyone being a japanese but that's not my case. I know I could just restart every time I don't choose the correct answer to the questions I don't know until I get the correct one, but I'm not going to lie that I'm a bit lazy of having to do that, especially considering you can't load a save during the time the girls start studying.

Also sorry for the double post, but it had to be done.

< report >Years and years later here, but if the window is closing as soon as you run the game with no error message, the first place to look is Windows Defender. I've had a few VNs get flagged as malware. Windows Defender will force them to nosedive almost immediately after starting, and will sometimes quarantine the exe, unless I make an exception for them.

< report >Couldn't find a guide like that, although in theory you could extract the .BCS files from the game's archives using Garbro then decompile them to see if the questions and answers are there somewhere. Problem is you need a program designed for that particular file or the scenario.xp, and crass-0.4.14.0 and AE-VN tools both can't do it, so it's likely nothing will. The latter program came close because it supports Ricotte ~Alpenbul no Utahime~ according to the files, but it appears that doesn't apply to other Rune/Cage/Tanuki Soft games. It's more trouble than it's worth basically, assuming there's a way to do this in the first place.

If it helps, it's not easy to make a coherent guide for the questions and answers because the questions appear to be randomized; when the big progress bar stops at a particular subject, the game goes to a question bank in its files and selects a random question to ask you. I noticed this after starting the other girls' routes later then I started seeing several questions I already answered before. You'd have to memorize all the answers, that takes just as much time as loading your saves, especially if you know some of the math and Japanese language ones.

I remember one question in social studies that had the kanji for cow and I just guessed Hokkaido because there's a lot of farms there and that was the right answer lol. I don't remember any other questions and answers besides that.

< report >#12 Well I don't know OP, but in my case it's not that the window closed but that I only got a black screen every time I tried to run the game, and I already gave permission to Windows Defender so that it wouldn't detect the game as a Trojan horse.

#13 Yeah I've seen that as well, there are some questions that are repeated even though I already got that question while teaching to probably the same girl I was already doing classes before, which is nice if that was one of the questions you already knew the correct answer, not gonna lie. Guess I'll have to memorize the answers to certain questions then like you said because I don't think I would be able to go to all the trouble extracting the .BCS files tbh. Thanks for the help though!
