They say except CGs and scenes - many jokes in text were deleted too (rather harmless to boot).

the question comes down to whether you care enough about the story of a particular game to want to read it with underage pantyshots removed or not.

personally i would prefer that if the underage pantyshots (or whatever) are not needed in the game that they not put them in in the first place!

adding meaningless fanservice in an attempt to pander to people that you have to trick into buying your game is just as gross as cutting things, it ruins the story.

not necessarily saying this particular game is like that because i haven't played it, but i have definitely played VNs that shoved in HERE LOOK A CROTCH SHOT for no fucking reason other than 'we think our customers are too stupid to read a story if they don't get panties in the first thirty minutes'

^If it's just a panty shot, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't even care much. This is way more though.
It's also about HOW you censor. Just cutting off a part of the picture is a no-go. That's fast, easy and takes no effort whatsoever. At least redraw that shit.

Its comparable. Just read their forum thread about that game, it was panned by everyone and the game's still sold.
Not sure if they improved but I'm sure NASA is still hated for the same reasons.
>Can't sell a game uncensored? Localize a different one. Easy as that.
Don't want to play a modified game? Play the Japanese version instead.
Glad people with feelings like yours don't have power, sure it would be better to get it as its but saying a game shouldn't be brought because its fanservice features are removed just shows why people against censorship shouldn't be heard at all. Reminds me of people boycotting Fire Emblem Fates over the removal of petting, they wanted a game to not be localized just because they wouldn't touch people with their stylus while ignoring the meat of the game which was the strategy.
Maybe people should get their priorities straight, don't support it if you want i guess but don't hope companies to hear you with mindsets like that.Last modified on 2019-04-13 at 16:41

more importantly, is this actually a VN? on a thread in another foum they said it definitely wasn't, that it was just an RPG.

It's definitely a vn, it has narration, but it's nowhere near to stuff like Dandanronpa, though i didn't finished it yet, i'm it ch4.
It's just an okay jrpg, gameplay similar to Legend of Grimrock with survival elements.Last modified on 2019-04-13 at 19:48

Whatever. If you want to deprave people from getting games because of an small aspect of a game is missing and basically saying fuck you to people who want to play said games then I can't do more call you on your bullshit and be glad you have no power there.Last modified on 2019-04-13 at 20:20

Once, someone told me censorship was good because it bettered games by stripping them from fanservice. Now, censorship is about "missing a small aspect of a game".
People without principles. Why bother? They will always find a way to put things into perspective.
Now, the anti-censorship are the bad guys lmao.

I wouldn't be interested in this game either way, but here's how I see it. Unnecessary censorship is stupid, and I don't want to fund stupidity. If that seems petty, so be it. Remember, if it is important enough for a business to censor, it's important enough for the customer to boycott over.

Is this even a VN? I know a few people who have played it who said that while it has a fair bit of story, it's not really a VN at all. Does anyone here who played it have any input.

It's pretty much the same in regards to Dangaronpa, except on here you are forced to go through each character's perspective through each chapter

characters thoughts and such are shown, watch it from 3:01, it's like that for the whole game

@35: You are basically eating crap out of free will. You DO realize that? They didn't even put any effort or real reasons into censoring. They did it, because it's more convenient for them. If they actually provided a product that's a bit different, that's one thing. But providing one where they literally CUT OUT stuff, be it part of a picture, features, dialogue or whatever, and change stuff just because they can... yeah. You shouldn't support that. Censoring something for convenience is REALLY bad. Doing it in the most low cost effort possible makes it even worse.

Let's take another example. Dungeon Travelers 2. ESRB said, that the game can't be released unless 3 (or so) pictures are changed. So the publisher had to do something. But they didn't remove them. They altered and redrew the pictures. In one case you could even argue that the result was even "worse" than the original, but you know, in the end ESRB has the say there. This is fine. Unfortunately, you basically never have this case. Companies just cut, cut, cut, cut. They twist a product into something else for their own convenience, without caring about the product in itself at all. They don't stand behind the product they want to sell.Last modified on 2019-04-14 at 10:36

most companies are soulless anyway they just put out whatever crap they think the market will pay for. paste porn in, cut porn out, it's all the same to them.

Actually it is quite worth mentioning that there is a difference between publisher and developer and one should be easily be able to see which choices were made liberally, by the developers, and which were forced upon a work, by the publisher.

Only rarely developers don't like the project they are working on, after all, apart from that it would "break" them swiftly, how can one be able to draw and animate "fanservice", professionally, if one did not train that... well, incidentally that's how one can see the difference in quality between very "Ecchi" anime and Hentai one. Nipples are the tell. Obviously the prior is more rare and merely may mean that the artists do lack experience, not the passion and got the job because it is so niche while most "betters" work on H anime already.

And yes, that one company which claims that they had to shoehorn 18+ scenes in does not speak for the whole industry, not even a large part of it. Heck, it'd be not surprising if they actually changed their opinion simply because it makes them look better. An artists/writer who thinks "I can only sell if I do lewd" and indeed trains those skills then despite not liking it can indeed only be called crazy. No, not tsundere, simply insane.

This has no nipple though, the scenes they cut is only one image per character in child form. Which if you think about it, it's weird

these are the bond scenes

It only lasts 11 minutes long, and you get a CG at the end base on your age. (When you unlock them the chances are they are at old age and it's weird as hell)

no one has even made a video nor any evidence on what they removed in the first place
