Well, add this to your list of your titles to be forever ruined by MTL. RIP.

Another day of sadness in the VN community. Why are they picking off VNs with plot all of a sudden? :(

First, Your Diary, now this. What's next? Aokana?

the better question is how much money does SakuraGame have to pay all these licenses to the JP devs?

I can almost see in the near future the rise of #VNgate where it documents publishers who trash their product with MTL, those who delay releases into kingdom come and those like MG or Nekonyan.

I thought their main target audience was the Chinese people?
Their English release was only there for extra cash?

#7 Sure, but that still doesn't neglect the fact that they got the license to those games, making it much harder for actual English publishers to acquire said games. And as a result, effectively ruining the games they publish.Last modified on 2018-08-23 at 16:27

What's sad is that VNDB actually lists these butchered releases as English because hey, they're official...

the saddest part is that its the Chinese ruining the VNs and its not even their (payer's) fault

its not just chinese developer have the most fault because they give the license to company who use MTL could be anyone not just chinese when they could just give license to company like MG/JAST/NekoNyan...

@12 you're saying people can buy licenses just to troll the VN? that won't last too long and that costs money.

which SakuraGame would have literally unlimited funds to troll the game as long as Chinese buyers would buy the VN they are translating/licensing.

#13 Well, there is a certain user here that's okay with sakuragames' MTLs bullshit. Hell, I don't even care to capitalise their brand name right cuz they don't deserve it.

i dont think they buy licenses to troll they just get licenses and use MTL to launch quick and sell for little because a lot of people will buy on steam

#16 I am not referring to you. And yeah I understand your point; how the dev simply want to make easy money and can't resist sakuragames' demonic offering.

is there anyway for steam to give sakuragame a "warning" maybe something like a community strike?

@19 No, unless you manage to convince Steam that it falls under trolling. The problem is that even if the English is trash, the Chinese translation is legitimate.

I wonder if they will use the current CN patch or create a new translation from scratch.

If they want to scam the english-only readers, they need to delete the steam description. People might get suspicious after reading that paragraph of engrish. (Just kidding, they'll buy it anyway)

My guess is that if we manage to make steam take action against Sakuragame they will also start to take more actions against legitimate VN translators as well. Don't really think we can trust valve.

#24 They're already disallowing practically anything with anime-esque art. I don't think the situation can get any worse.
