< report >Best girl Nene, but I really like her seiyuu so that's a huge plus for me.
Meguru and Touko are quite enjoyable as well.

I wasn't fully satisfied with any route tbh, but if I had to name one then Nene again. Meguru's route was ok and Touko's one was... disappointing to say the least.

< report >It's weird that every route have best of something.
Nene with the VA and the over glorified epilogue.
Meguru with really enjoyable LoveCom.
Tsumugi with the protagonist flashback.
Touka with the after story.

< report >Eh, Wakana at least has the memories with the Shuuji when he was younger going for her and while it is a repeat of the whole "dead fish" thing it does show that his way of dealing with all of it has gotten more and more passive over the years which Tsugumi's route does touch upon how he was different back then and how the memory of it impacts him but Wakana's view of him then and now adds a different perspective for me. But yeah I would say it is pretty generic but I must give it points for it having its own opening which I did not expect at all, quality is debatable but it is a nice touch.

But yeah Tsugumi best girl and Meguru best route in my opinion though Nene's route is a close second since Meguru's route is almost a bit too sweet at times.

Tsugumi's route is a bit too rushed for my tastes as sweet as it is and the thing about him having a flashback of meeting some girl, presumably Tsugumi, in school is never mentioned again which irritates me. As well as the big conflict is done in less than a chapter which I understand why but it could have been drawn out a bit more in my opinion. I mean Shuuji is turned into a teddy bear, everyone doesn't remember him as if he never existed sans Nene, Tsugumi, Nanao and Akagi, and there is a dog going around wounding people's hearts. All well and good but I feel though something more could have been done. So I place her route at 4th favorite even though she is my favorite character.

I actually enjoyed Touko's route considerably and like the after route going that far into the future but I wish they had played up her sudden embarrassment at remembering things she said and did as it would have been much more funny beyond just the initial cuteness. So she takes 3rd for me.Last modified on 2018-11-20 at 06:01

What I hate the most about Nene's route is the "you do this and I'll give you this." I just don't find this romantic in any way. It's just too transactional and business-like. So If I don't do X then I don't get Y? at some point their romance is gonna burn out. Why should I do X when I could just play vidya or just youtube or just anything else. at some point one of them will say this romance is too much effort and they will break up. dropped it at chapter 3-4 after story.

< report >@12 I am trying to think off the top of my head what you mean by "transactional and business-like" but I am drawing a blank. Could you provide an actual example of what you mean?

If you are referencing the fragments that is kinda a given since that is what kicks off the story (besides the whole library masturbation thing) and can and will happen no matter the route chosen and the route chosen simply makes the dynamic of the fragments either business-like (everybody's route besides Nene) or not wanting it to happen but it will (Nene's route). The former is a given because Shuuji does have her shards and Nene only views him as a friend but I would contend it is less a business transaction and more a side effect of Shuuji actually getting a better outlook on life, Nene just happens to benefit from Shuuji getting a better life because of other circumstances but that is not, as far as shown, not her primary reason for helping him.

Can't see much of the whole their relationship being business like for Restart 3-4 either since it can be summed up as "bass practice like in common but this time with a jealous and lonely Nene and them having dinner and making a promise and then dad stumbles into their make out session and makes everything awkward" which her being jealous isn't too surprising given her character. Actually given context it is more or less expected.

Similarly if you are going to argue that Nene's promise in 3-4 of "I'll fulfill one wish of yours. It can be anything" and "If you keep working hard with your practice and the performance goes well... I'll give you a bit of a reward." is a business transaction I would take serious issue with that since it is not seriously a business transaction within context as she is doing it as something to encourage Shuuji to focus on practice and give a good show since he is wanting to do but is having trouble with pessimism about not doing well.

Could one argue that an agreement to give Shuuji a reward is a transaction? Yes, it is by definition a transaction. However is it something that both parties view as impersonal and business like thus making it a business transaction? No. That much is obvious when looking at how they think and feel about each other. Similarly could one argue that refusal to go along with it will harm their relationship? Again, no seeing as Nene isn't threatening him with a breakup if he doesn't work hard or give a good performance therefore it does not base their relationship around an exchange where if one party refuses the exchange is broken.

Shuuji is being pessimistic and she made that suggestion in order to encourage him to give it his all and to be frank a lot of people work harder when someone encourages them or says they would give a reward to do it, because sometimes we need that kind of encouragement. Plenty of people, myself included, use the mentality that if we get something done we will treat ourselves to something and this is pretty much the same thing but instead it is the girlfriend saying they would treat the boyfriend if he gives it his all. Context is different but there is still the idea of encouragement in order to achieve something either through reward or denial of something until a certain point.

However it isn't like Shuuji turning down the idea of Nene giving him a reward for his hard work would negatively impact their relationship in the slightest which makes it not business like seeing as if you turn down a business offer it impacts one or both party's stock and future plans which this doesn't.

Long winded explanation that can be summed up as "No their relationship isn't business-like and transactional given context in the specific area you mentioned."Last modified on 2018-11-20 at 08:05

< report >^ sorry, my save state says I'm on chapter 3-4 but that doesn't mean that's where I found their romance to be transactional. looking back I think it's somewhere in chapter 2. iirc what I got from this chapter is since Nene lost a lot of her sexual drive now that her curse has lifted, their sex frequency has lowered. consequently reducing their romance to a transactional thing. reading this chapter reminded me of lesbian death bed for some reason.

< report >^ Well it's pretty much the same in all Yuzusoft games. There's always a slighty more important girl in their stories. Not to the point you'd call her a central heroine though.

Honestly I felt she would have been an absolutely perfect match for me if I was in Shuuji's position! Everything about her was unbearably adorable.

< report >My heroine preference would be:
Nene >= Tsumugi > Meguru > (Wakana) > Touko

And apparently, excluding Wakana, that’s kinda my route preference too.

I really love Nene because of her cuteness and her carelessness gives double cuteness. Plus, she’s really giving an angel presence to me. Also, her voice is goddamn adorable and it really gives angelic vibes. Tsumugi is close second because of her freaking cuteness overload. Her jealousy moments are much more freaking adorable and when she gets totally mad, to the point even her voice is getting deep, is totally hilarious. Not to mention, loli with boobs is my biggest fetish. For Meguru, despite being 3rd place for me, it doesn’t mean I don’t like her that much. In fact, I really like her too. She’s very funny and quite a personality overall so I can really understand why she’s popular. As for Touko… I don’t have problems about her personality but, her hairstyle, particularly when she wears school uniform, doesn’t suit her for some reason. I really have issues about her voice too because it doesn’t suit her personality... Maybe if her default hairstyle is the ponytail one then I guess I could let my issues about her slide.Last modified on 2018-12-20 at 14:50

< report >Meguru was best girl (not saying a whole lot), but i liked that Nene's route explored the time traveling after we had already experienced the story. Still, I don't like how this was written like every route had to have a problem. It doesn't. They can just fuck and be happy.

< report >@23 If they all just fuck and be happy it wouldn't be story - if there is no challenges then there is no story. After completing challenges together with the girl you will feel more emotionally involved with her, which creates better experience for this sort of game. Plain simple moege (this one could be considered as one, but it is one of the best out there because of drama/story elements) and nukige are plain boring for most people. It is same as playing an rpg with cheat codes and max level from the start.Last modified on 2019-01-24 at 11:15
