If you have a reddit account, I'm running a Best Girl in Visual Novels contest. Should be lasting about a month and I'll update this topic.

Right now we're in the nomination phase, so if there's anyone in the current nomination bracket you don't see, feel free to nominate as many as you want.

There is a separate bracket for characters that are only in untranslated visual novels. Nominations will last about 3-5 days. Rest of the rules are in the reddit topic.

A direct link to the brackets so you don't have to go to reddit each time you want to check.

My favorite, Kurata Emi, got ejected before the starting line. I am not the one who will get anthrax letters~~~
I totally forgot to flood the contest with countermoemeasures so I ended up adding only six contestants when I learnt about the contest. I didn't expect the nomination phase to last 5 days. This is way too short.
Fortunately, someone added two of the Mamiya girls (Starless) I planned to add later. No Marisa and no Sachie. Why, unknown man, why? Anyway, they got flushed out with Emi-chan... and Leona-sama. I am not the one who will get my head cut off and stuffed so an old pervert get the privilege to skullfuck me~~~

My remaining contestants are the three Kara no Shoujo girls and Kirie-sama for the lewd (I figured she would have a chance with the recent translation).
Also:
┌(。°з ┐ )┘三└( ┌ ε°。)┐┘ MANAKA-SAMA! FIGHTO! FIGHTO! M! A! N! A! K! A! HEY! OH! MANAKA! FOR THE KILL! KILL THEM ALL! GOUGE THEIR EYES! BREAK THEIR LEGS! HEY! OH!
You better vote for her or I will not the be the one who...

PS: Of course, I didn't have the time to add to the untranslated pool so you can figure how flooded with moeblobs is that complete dump.Last modified on 2018-11-15 at 05:40

Wow, that is some unfair seeding. (Although I guess there's no such thing as a "fair" seeding, depending on your point of view.) It's deliberately set up so all girls seeded highly don't face each other until the finals. Not only that, the lower you are in the seed, the higher ranked your opponents are, all but guaranteeing instant elimination. #1 faces #256 first, #2 faces #255 first, and so on.

So the favorites are almost never eliminated early, getting the people who like them to stay with the contest longer, and the odds of a dramatic finale are high.

This world is so rotten even the fictional girl contests are manipulated for more clicks.Last modified on 2018-11-15 at 06:15

I thought the seed numbers were real time votes and so was satisfied to see many of my favorites winning with a margin but now I understand that I only like unpopular girls...
I was laughing at Tohsaka Rin with one vote (and nodding at the community not giving any vote to many seen-too-much contestants) but now she is laughing at me.
Anyway, I hope we won't end up with some Sanoba winner.
Yeah, I sound like I actually care about this contest.Last modified on 2018-11-15 at 06:32
