We would like to sell works translated into English and other languages overseas in the future. (There is no specific milestone because it is just hope.) As a reference, I would like to take a questionnaire on which works you would like to have a formal English translation.

It would seem they are not working with Fakku again after Chii-chan, but are looking for someone to help localize their titles in the future. What's the potential here, I wonder. Quof is the only guy who has translated two (the only ones, too) of their titles so far.Last modified on 2019-07-08 at 18:00

Well, Devil Lords, Hot Moms, and Wife Swapping, kind of a tough call what I'd prefer.

#3 I wouldn't be surprised if they don't want to work with Fakku again. Without even paying much attention to Fakku it just seems like a bad match. Even setting aside how it seems like things run there, I think most people associate them with H-Manga/Doujins and not VNs or games. They've got a relatively big audience, but there's probably better people to work with.

Side note: What are the TL'd Orcsoft titles? I know there Aheahe Moon and the upcoming Chii-chan, is there something else or was Quof working on Chii-chan?Last modified on 2019-07-09 at 05:31

Oof. Oh, Orcsoft. Not a fan of simplified polls like these completely disregarding the level of effort put into the writing of each VN. I mean VNs like Maou-sama shouldn't even be on the same stage as VNs like Omae no Kaa-chan. The latter has proper build-up and the character's thoughts and emotions coupled with enticing situations heavily add to the reader's arousal while the former soullessly and almost mechanically runs you through various sexual positions with just the one character. Maou-sama is good for what it is, the CGs are nice, but in the end it's not that different from watching generic western porn.

Not that any of that matters if it doesn't sell. 😬

It's not like a low-visibility poll with a couple dozen votes will decide anything, but I'm kinda sad that my choice is the least favored and my least liked option is the most favored. Oh, well.Last modified on 2019-07-09 at 09:22

#4 It's not so much that I'm sure they don't want to work with Fakku, but more like Fakku themselves don't seem interested. Either they may not be hiring a translator for more Orcsoft titles or the translators involved (Quof) will not be able to translate more titles due to an extremely busy schedule translating LNs.

What I know for sure, though, is that pretty much any schoolgirl title by Orcsoft will never be allowed on Steam. That means Sex Friend is pretty much a never ever if Orcsoft is aiming for those Steam $$$s. But then I'm not sure if they are, let's be honest, most companies do if they're not being bribed by Sweeney. What's that leave them as far as market goes? Fakku, JAST Store, DLSite, MangaGamer? I'm not all too familiar with others. JAST would probably be the best in position to work with Orcsoft to localize their titles and market them other than Fakku.

Also, Aheahe Moon and Chii-chan are they only translated titles from Orcsoft.

#6 No worries, Maou-sama was the most popular on the twitter poll last I checked. I can see why: Sian's artwork + thicc chocolately demoness = Hot.Last modified on 2019-07-11 at 23:57

#7 Setting aside who they might partner with, the market is interesting. Ostensibly getting on Steam is probably best, but there tends to be some added hoops to jump through, if it's even possible to get the title listed (or keep it listed). With that said, I'm not sure which of the other markets are considered best, particularly with how fragmented releases tend to be across them. Toss in that partnering with one of them specifically to get a translation done is probably going to tie them exclusively to that market and it's an extra detail to consider.

Anyway, we'll see if any news comes from this poll because I'd certainly like to see more Orcsoft stuff done.
