sorry if i am mistaken on their engine name. I mostly based it here on the title screen of the game:

That might simply be a joke by the translation team. I would rather believe they added this message to their translation as a joke, rather than consider that they created their own engine from scratch.

Of course the truth could only be gleaned by acquiring both the JP or EN and RU versions of the game and comparing them, but who has the time to do that?...

Huh, so they did port the game. I wonder... it might indeed be their own engine.

I assume the Readme says nothing regarding this matter? Still, I think it's better to ask the team if you are Russian and leave the engine field blank for now.

Not really surprising considering how terrible most vn engines are when dissected, especially in-house ones.

I remember how I once tried to translate a certain vn almost 20 years ago or so, spent 2 weeks to reverse engineer the script code, image and package formats, wrote the recompiler - only to find out that the bastard engine was crashing after even the minor changes to data and had the most ridiculous params hardcoded. Almost started to write my own engine but became bored with the project.
