If a patch has an option to disable (r437, r341) or enable (r62346) 18+ content what should its age rating be? Similarly, if a patch has an option to decensor (r62346, r36877) the mosaics should it be marked with "No mosaic or other optical censoring"?
(I strongly favor marking them as 18+ and uncensored respectively but I don't want to start any edit wars, thus the thread.)Last modified on 2019-09-02 at 21:12

IDK what other option there would be for this problem apart from what you've said. There IS 18+ content in the files and that's enough to make the game 18+, even if the content is not visible in the game, and it'd be false information to say it's mosaic censored when it's not necessarily true.

#3, I dunno sounds like a dumb idea to make it not 18+ in my view. However, after the Hot Coffee incident, it is clear that the very presence of 18+ content makes it 18+ (at least in the view of the law) and the uncensored one would be misleading to leave it as censored if the patch itself contains the ability to uncensor. That user also was involved in another edit problem which had a dodgy opinion (link).Last modified on 2019-09-02 at 21:28

Just saying I agree with the conclusions in this thread. Boils down to two simple rules:
If a release has the option to display uncensored images, the "No mosaic" option should be checked.
If a release has the option of displaying 18+ content, then the entire release should be marked as 18+.
