This game seems to have the same issue a lot of vns have, in my opinion at least. once the character and the selected heroine actually end up as girlfriend and boyfriend any and all interest goes down the drain. is there something to keep me invested or something to look forward to? is it just happy go lucky couple stuff and a few hours before they lived happily ever after? in my opinion a story needs a conflict and with what i've played of this. the conflict is 'will they won't they' once that's answered I find myself bored to tears.Last modified on 2019-09-22 at 05:07

You picked wrong game and brand to find drama if that's what you are looking for.

A story doesn't need drama. But it does need a hook and something worth looking out for. Good slice of life is also varied enough to make it work.

That said, this brand is widely known to only do the lowest effort slice of life possible. In exchange, their stuff is LONG. But there are enough that like it like that.
For a lot of people it'll end up boring, because only the heroine tends to exist. That obviously doesn't work very well.Last modified on 2019-09-22 at 07:30

Pretty sure that's your opinion influenced by your own taste. No need to invoke a non-existing consensus.

As someone who love pure love stories without any drama , this Vn is a masterpiece for me

Romance stories should have a lot of cute heartwarming romantic moments not dramaLast modified on 2019-09-22 at 20:04

I happen to have the same issue with some VNs. Now I try to search for ones I haven't read, with a Long Common route first if I want to choose from one

For me it's less a problem of there being no conflict, but rather with the story being bland. So far I've only finished Marika's route (deredere lover), but it felt pretty bland. Anyone know if Touko or Sora's routes are any better?

Sora's Route - 2nd longest in the VN (after Rika's) by my estimation. The beginning of the route is pretty draggy. Transitioned into a story which is not as generic as Marika's (I disagree with your opinion)

Touka's route - 3rd longest route in the VN. The 'problem' in the route seems a bit forced to me, especially after one sees how the writer resolved it (could had used this solution long ago in the route). Better than Marika's no-drama route if that's your issue with it

Natsuki's route - About the same general structure as Marika's, but shorter and even more 'bland'. I will skip it if I were you since you don't seem to like this kind of story

Misa's Route - Some drama, medium length, well paced story unlike Natsuki's (too short and rushed), Rika's (damm long), or Sora's (damm draggy). Solid route

Rika's Route - This route alone = most mid length VNs. Best developed route, the 'problem' was well resolved, and great after-story. Best Girl too imo

Saw your vote for this VN (4). If drama is what you are looking for, can consider reading this company's previous work (Hatsukoi 1/1). Complete opposite of what this VN is like

@9 complete opposite is right for Hatsukoi 1/1 I guess... especially with the huge red flag of having a donkan protagonist. and considering many have already lambasted that VN for the protag... yeah probably best not to touch that if that's a huge turn off.
and really, I've already had my fill of a whole lot of badly written drama in VN's lately that I am now appreciating the ones that have little to none and just focus on the interactions/romance (this and Making Lovers are doing it for me). of course, in the end, it all just comes down to how it's written.

@13 people are too harsh with hatsukoi, I personally liked it more than hoshi ori, due to the fact that most routes in hoshi ori are somewhat boring, and in hatsukoi the protagonist is only a donkan in two routes, and I personally think that the whole drama of the mc being an idiot in runa route, made said route one of the best for meLast modified on 2020-05-23 at 07:39
