Didn't you know that this is based on a real story?

The protagonist is actually the father of all of them, including the "mother". The real mother was found rotting in the basement.

If you look closely, they are clearly an alien race sent to subjugate earth's primitive non-imouto loving tribe. Proof: Scene where the protagonist brainwashes Saya's friend, causing the infection to spread. They also appear to be genetically bred for maximum cuteness.
The "mother" masquerades as an antique collector, which is clearly a profession that aliens want to do when they visit earth. Think about it - you are an alien with access to whatever technological magic anyone can imagine. What would be the best way to spend time on primitive earth? Why, its to look at their art collection and antique items. Just as we today spend time appreciating the art and antique from primitive tribal people.

Another dead giveaway is the lack of common sense and the unusual name for a human male. When her son was born, she might not have been acclimated to earth's culture, and thus did not understand naming habits. Lacking that knowledge, she decided to name her son by his designated role - "Onii chan". Later on, she understood the meaning of names in japanese cultures, and thus the other girls have normal sounding names rather than "Imouto 1".Last modified on 2020-02-08 at 10:57
