< report >I've seen him making edits about which is SFW and which is not. some of them are fine but some of them are also a bit...problematic. I don't want to create an further edit war (which is already happened) so i thought it's better to contact the admins/moderators directly and clear things up. if it's indeed problematic then it's better to contact him immediately by the mods.

seems like guy is obsessed with turning every borderline-nsfw image into SFW, sometimes ignoring common sense and starting edit wars, which goes against guidelines motto "when in doubt, it's often best to go for NSFW."

< report >We've had far too many NSFW flag wars recently, I almost feel like adding a "if it's not super obviously badly flagged, don't touch it" rule, since many of these edit wars seem about fairly minor things. The guidelines are subjective, there's often room for own interpretation and I don't see how to fix that, so getting overzealous about marking things as SFW/NSFW is not very productive.

That said, @jacksan:
- Your edits have indeed not been in line with the guidelines - most of what you consider SFW definitely doesn't count as SFW on here.
- Stop reverting edits when you disagree, that's what the forums (and threads like these) are for.

(And @wakaranai: Sorry about that internal server error, turns out I forgot to add a client-side validation)

< report >Yeah, all those edits are outside the bounds of common sense. Some of them are outright nsfw, without anything "borderline" about them. I loathe making the db edits while on the phone, so feel free to revert them, and if he continues to make trouble I'll take care of it when I'm back from work.

< report >Lol, I was writing a thread this very instant about that. I was fed up having a bunch of notifications about the same half a dozen VN being flipped SFW one day, NSFW the next day.
Of all things, to fight over NSFW guidelines smh...
That being said, I couldn't do a thing 'cause I don't know if covers from Shojo Bitch Darake no Tennis-bu Gasshuku! ~Atashi ga Shojo Datte Shouko ga Doko ni An no yo!?~, Gokkun Athlete! Kyonyuu Medalist no Oshaburi Kyouka Gasshuku and Itsu made mo Musuko no Mama ja Irarenai! 3 ~Kyonyuu de Muchimuchi na Kaa-san no Oppai o Sutte Monde Hasande Ippai Dashitai!~ have "overly sexually suggestive" poses? Without the nipple, would Madam ni Amaenbou ~Meiwaku Sagi Mail ni Henshin Shite Mitara Hontou ni Nandemo Ukeirete Kureru Kanemochi Bijin Madam ga Yattekita no de Chou Amaete Mita Boku~ be "overly sexually suggestive" too? I honestly don't give a heck about the NSFW system but I better know if this situation rises again.

< report >@Eacil:
My interpretation:
Shojo Bitch Darake no Tennis-bu Gasshuku! ~Atashi ga Shojo Datte Shouko ga Doko ni An no yo!?~ and Gokkun Athlete! Kyonyuu Medalist no Oshaburi Kyouka Gasshuku - the gal bends in an overtly suggestive way, basically shoving the crotch in our faces, so I would call that NSFW, even without nudity. On the other hand, regarding Itsu made mo Musuko no Mama ja Irarenai! 3 ~Kyonyuu de Muchimuchi na Kaa-san no Oppai o Sutte Monde Hasande Ippai Dashitai!~, I frankly would qualify it as SFW. There is no nudity and no female anatomy outlined by clothes or the like.
Madam ni Amaenbou ~Meiwaku Sagi Mail ni Henshin Shite Mitara Hontou ni Nandemo Ukeirete Kureru Kanemochi Bijin Madam ga Yattekita no de Chou Amaete Mita Boku~ - if I couldn't see half her nipples, I would also qualify it as SFW. While the pose is erotic, there is nothing otherwise visible or egregiously outlined.

Yorhel is right, that the whole SFW vs NSFW war is ridiculous due to the guidelines being very subjective. VNDB will never be totally SFW, thus it's a fool's business to correct images that straddle the line between the two.

< report >The thing is I don't understand the point of the actual system if this is to do such a poor job at it. No one would like their boss to find they are browsing the last two examples you deemed Safe For Work (yes, without nipples). If you don't work, go explain your mama there is nothing sexual about the woman eating cherries...
Wouldn't it be better to tag NSFW every slightest glimpse of explicit and implicit sexual behavior? Be puritan friendly? It's not like this is censorship. Iirc, I got an account because it was annoying to have to click on all those NSFW covers when I was browsing. If you are here for the sex, you will get an account. If you are not, non nukige have mostly SFW covers. *looking at the top 50 most popular VN*Last modified on 2020-01-29 at 18:25

< report >I have suspended him - maybe that will force him to the discussion table... or not. Don't have time to check his edits now, so feel free to revert those that are against common sense.

< report >This is a good time to bring up this screenshot: link

Please look at it before reading the spoiler
apparently she's holding the [invisible] protagonist's penis in her handkerchief. Does this count as NSFW or isn't it?Last modified on 2020-01-30 at 05:59

< report >You know, you were trolled. It's a scene where the protag got a fever and she is wringing a fresh towel to replace the one on his forehead. You can see from her hands' position around the towel that she can't possibly be doing what you think she is doing.

< report >#11, fine, then if it were hypothetically so, would it be NSFW then?

also why would they have a cg of it then? cgs cost money, why would you waste one on that...Last modified on 2020-01-30 at 18:14

< report >Because it's a cute scene of bonding where she is taking care of you?
I believe NSFW flagging is here to prevent someone to see, you know, NSFW stuff. So if you can't tell without inner knowledge of the game that the CG has a sexual meaning, it shouldn't be tagged as NSFW.
