I don't mean MCs that has a secret rape fetish or a neet or something like that, I want MCs that border grey or just straight up doing evil things, from bullying a heroine, overkill revenges, kicking puppies, knows completely what he is doing and the consequences of how it will affect the people around him, but doesn't care.

Im getting sick of these over apologizing japanese teenagers nice guys, so would be a nice change of pace to see something other than this.Last modified on 2020-02-24 at 05:14

There is a difference between a hero with bad traits but still does the right thing, AKA the antihero trope, and a dickhead.

Saya no Uta and Hanachirasu are probably the main ones.

Just use tags. Villainous Protagonist

Given the medium, most of these will obviously do villainous adult things as well. Anything else would be just weird.Last modified on 2020-02-24 at 11:45

Saya no Uta, Euphoria... um... there are others but I haven't read many yet except those.
Probably Rance?
Not sure if spoiler or not, but the protag from Yume Miru Kusuri is somewhat indifferent to what is happening around him (bystander syndrome), and that annoyed me to no end. He isn't evil, though. I still have to finish YMK, but it makes me tired.

Otherwise, just use tags.Last modified on 2020-02-27 at 00:47

Holy god. Natsu no Kusari is the perfect one.

Japanese H-games that focus on gameplay are more likely to have such protagonists, especially if the protagonist is male. No unrepentantly evil protagonists of VN hybrids come to mind (Rance and Venus Blood protagonists are more in line with being antiheroes), though if you ask a community like ulmf or the /hgg/ thread on 4chan, you might get good recommendations.Last modified on 2020-05-13 at 16:05

This describes Rance perfectly. He's not villainous, but the only reason he does heroic things is because it gives him an ego boost and gets him more sex, and he's a dick to everyone.

It might not be what you're looking for though, since the games are more comedic than serious. I think a lot of the more dark games with villainous protagonists are Japanese only; Shuusaku seems really compelling based on this blog post.

On that note, the whole -saku series might be interesting to you. There are various Protagonist tags that you can use to search for this stuff, too.Last modified on 2020-05-13 at 18:16

Afaik the protagonist in Isaku is a university student and not the villain.

These are famous VNs but are the only ones I played which I liked and their protagonists match more or less your traits:
G-Senjou no Maou
Grisaia (but he doesn't mistreat any heroine in any game)

EDIT: Remembered this one: Sansha Mendan ~Rensa Suru Chijoku Choukyou no Gakuen~
It's a nukige with almost no story, and the protagonist is a rape fetichist, but it isn't secret, he goes around raping women for real, but it's cool, good music with a cool protagonist, I found this one very nice and funny.Last modified on 2020-05-13 at 20:41

taimanin murasaki
rougoku no misleat
ochiru hitozuma

in general id say look into stuff by lilith, there's quite a bunch of those with protagonists that are unrepentant assholes.

My Fair Princess is a wholesome game and you sir don't know what you're talking about unless there's something really bad in routes I haven't read.Last modified on 2020-05-19 at 15:11

Just to clear any misunderstanding...
I didn't citizise the game as a whole. I enjoyed it - read my review. Yet, my opinion about that MC won't change.
However, I don't see what your comment has to with the OT... The quesiton is about bad MCs, not bad VNs. I stated my opinion about one MC I didn't like, not about a whole game.

Cheers

Mate, your replies have nothing to do with this thread. It's about a villainous, rapey, bad guy MC, not a badly written MC. Donkan =/ horrible person, the MC of MFP would be exactly the type of MC OP doesn't like.

To OP: try Bishop and Black Lilith.

Bit of a left field answer but I thought the protagonist in Kimi to Yumemishi is pretty bad. Like not nearly as bad as any of the other suggestions on this page, but he's actually pretty explotative, selfish and never gets his just desserts (which really bothered me because it gets brushed under the rug in every route).

If you go on EGS you can just look at the "dame" protagonist tag and you'll have a decent list (although there are probably a good number of donkan protagonists on there).

link

Minikui Mojika no Ko has a protagonist who's pretty evil, although most of the cast is screwed up in that.

A lot of the newer Clock-up VNs have protagonists that do horrible things (but aren't necessarily unlikable though). Yourou's protagonist probably fits that best.

Extravaganza has multiple protagonists, but from what I can remember the first one was pretty awful.

Muramasa would definitely fit the bill here but I can't say much about that without spoiling it.

White Album 2 has a kind of awful protagonist, although him being who he is is what makes a lot of the VN work.

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien's protagonist is like White Album 2's but even less likeable. Just a horrible human being.

Anonymous and the Rasen Kairou series have some pretty screwed up protagonists.

Suki Suki Daisuki has a fucked up protagonist but that should be clear just from the summary. It used to be difficult to acquire but I think they made an Android version that's pretty cheap.

And I second Itaike na Kanojo. Even if you go for the good routes he still does some awful shit in the common.
