I always had this feeling that Shikura Chiyomaru was a typical business whore and his mages a typical money machine but now I have the proof I was right. Not sure it will change anything if they replace the Chu☆Chu☆Darling☆Elite crap with "services".

Colopl has cute teddy bears in their business description page and their mission is to "make everyday life more enjoyable and wonderful for people everywhere". they must be good people, right? They convinced me, I should buy a smartphone.Last modified on 2020-03-31 at 19:44

"make everyday life more enjoyable and wonderful for people everywhere"

by making one watch many ads over and over or by making one gamble much more money on much less content?

Lot of people care about the (pseudo)SciADV series, yk, Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head, the upcoming Robotics;Notes's localization, stuff like that. Lot of people thought the guy becoming independent (from Kadokawa) meant good things for fans but it was apparently just to get a golden retirement against a SciADV gachacrap.

Edit: what's funny is that any shitty meme on r/steinsgate get way more upvotes than the news of their loved franchise being on the verge of ending in the gutter.Last modified on 2020-03-31 at 19:43

Meh, Steins;Gate is overrated, and Chaos;Head is a pile of shit.

Who has the rights though? I've not seen Mages do anything with Science for a while. Robotic Notes was before they went independent.
If they were depending on another company, I'd assume the rights are with the one at the very top. Otherwise that company would've also lost ALL products and the ability to sell them.

I'd not be surprised if Mages has no rights whatsoever.Last modified on 2020-05-03 at 07:30

Yeah, Kiru, it's not clear if Colopl has the rights.
当社は、MAGES.のオリジナルIP創出力と保有する人気IPを当社グループに加えることで、当社グループの主力事業であるモバイルサービス事業において、一層の競争力向上を見込んでおります。

"Popular IP GET". I thought it could mean anything but Mages is mostly a subcontractor. Beyond minor stuff like Dunamis and Disorder 6, do they own anything popular beyond the SciADV series? Now, we are talking about Colopl so "popular" means pretty much nothing. That would be funny if they only acquired the workforce and negligible IP.

I've not seen Mages do anything with Science for a while. Robotic Notes was before they went independent.
I don't understand, why are you ignoring all the new entries in the series like they don't belong to them? What about Dash?

They own the back catalogue of KID (the VN rights at least, doubt they own KID's old arcade games) and Cyberfront.Last modified on 2020-05-03 at 19:49

@9: I meant Dash was the last release, and that was before they were independent, released early 2019. Given how spike chunsoft releases that on Steam later this year, it's unlikely the license is actually somewhere else now.

I'm not sure about KID either. Memories Off, the biggest IP, has their recent releases on Steam handled by Spike Chunsoft as well, speaking for Dwango having the rights, rather than Mages themselves.

Really I think there's nothing we can say until we see it. It might really them banking on Mages building up something new. Or they actually did get their hands on something. Maybe even contract it from Dwango, who knows.Last modified on 2020-05-03 at 20:10
