This game really needs the remake.

SACCHIN WILL BE MAD
I wonder how Satsuki's route will work? Her story in the original game seemed to have ended abruptly, she's also a rather bland character. Or is she bland because she didn't have that much screen time?Last modified on 2013-09-08 at 06:24

< report >There is already a ton of story-lines related to her in the Tsukihime-corner of the nasuverse:
-She has a crush on Shiki from the beginning, which was milked for melodrama in the far side routes but could also be used effectively as simple relationship-drama in her route, especially combined with the fact that ->
-If it's true that the Actress Again "timeline" follows a sort of "Satsuki Normal END", then we can also count her struggle with her vampirism and bloodlust as other factors that could play into the storyline, elements that were mostly discarded in the original script.
-She is a fledging Dead Apostle, which means her potential was big enough to jump over the "dead" phase of vampirification entirely, which would once again be an interesting little mystery to explore, as this is pretty much a rule-breaking event.
-Her Reality Marble, Depletion Garden is practically tailor-made to be an anti-Arcueid power, depleting the mana of an area and creating a similar effect as when Shiki killed a part of the world in Ciel's route, which severely weakens Elementals and other magical beings, and thus Acueid as well.
-Then there is the issue that if Shiki were to try and help Satsuki, it would put him against Ciel at best (if it was a far side route) or Ciel -and- Arcueid at worst (if it was a near side route). Big obstacles -> Lots of opportunity for over-the-top fights and drama.

Overall I would say there are quite a lot of good ideas there that could make her route interesting, the only really problematic thing would be the explanation of her ridiculous magical potential, since only the most powerful of magi in the setting were able to skip the "dead" phase and become Dead Apostles on the spot, and even they didn't start pulling out overpowered reality-marbles from their cute little schoolgirl asses a few day after the event...
Still, Nasu will probably figure something out and turn out a good story for her. He has a habit of doing that. :PLast modified on 2013-08-30 at 15:47

< report >now I feel like I've forgotten a lot with tsukihime. Just that... Oh! wait a minute the phone is ringing.

Yes... WHAT? Noooo please please please please!!!! not in PS3!!! SACCHIN WILL BE MAD!

*ahem* now where was I? Oh yeah, I had mostly forgotten what happened to Tsukihime. And I kinda stopped after Akiha route. If a remake would ever be released I'd probably fire this up... after the PS3 thingy gets hacked.Last modified on 2013-08-30 at 16:40

< report >Will her story be interesting or not, but Satsuki is another annoying, boring deredere, which I hate. And I don't understand why you guys are so excited because of possibility of playing her route. I believe she must be DEAD and FORGOTTEN :D

< report >^ She's fake yandere, because she wasn't like that from the begining. It's not her genuine personality. She became crazy after... you know.

And a good one
Why she's so good, this fake-yandere-tan? I wanna know. It's easy to say "she's good", but I'd like to figure out where are the roots of this blind (as I suspect) fanaticism?Last modified on 2013-08-31 at 08:55

< report >She's not deredere. Well, yes, she has a crush in the main character. Like basically every heroine, for every protagonist, ever. Deredere means acting in that crush and being unusually affectionate with the guy (like, say, the Shuffle girls). Satsuki lacks that.
And that "fake" categorization of yandere doesn't make sense. Few girls are yandere by default; usually something happens that makes them flip. And the "beginning" for Satsuki it's irrelevant; it's her new situation the one that matters (since that's how she becomes relevant to the story).

< report >@Silence: Okay, this is about as far as I will let things go. Stop flamebaiting. Now. ಠ_ಠ
You can consider this an official warning. Running around while talking out of your ass, obvious trying to get on people's nerves and calling their opinion "fanaticism" is already in troll category, but I will let you walk away from this one. Continue your act, and you can expect some more drastic countermeasures.

It's really pathetic how retarded TM fanboys always have to bring up this crap everywhere they go, even in a thread like this where there's not a single mention of the anime whatsoever.

< report >So... is there any info about the remake, or is it safe to assume that it will never happen? I was never too interested in Tsukihime, though that changed quite a bit after watching all of the Kara no Shoujo movies. I thought I’d read this, but then I found out there was a remake coming out... for like five years now? What I’m trying to ask is, is it worth it to read the old Tsukihime despite all of it’s problems, or should I wait some more? I don’t really care for a translation, as I might just as well be able to read it in Japanese by the time it comes out... if it comes out.

< report >Did you just say.. Kara no Shoujo movies? I'm guessing you meant kara no kyoukai. And yes, it's going to happen. Why wouldn't it happen? Why would they advertise a product and promote it like so without having the intention to release it in the future? These things take time. Learn to be patient.

Also, there really is no reason to skip the original Tsukihime just because a remake is coming out in the future.Last modified on 2013-09-07 at 17:23

< report >^ Agreed. If the remake comes out, chances are it will be so different as to be incomparable to the original anyways, so there is simply no reason to hold out on it.

I don't agree with that. Unless it will be completely different story with the same name (which is not), old Tsukihime will act as a huge spoiler. I have no idea about story but the artwork in this remake is so much better. I wouldn't want to spoil even a tiny bit of the remake. So waiting till it's out and reading old Tsukihime after (if at all) sounds like better idea to me.

However personally I'm not going to read it at all, unless it will have voice acting (or until it'll have voice acting)Last modified on 2013-09-07 at 18:17

< report >Except in your mindset it seems that new = better. Which is something I would not want to assume. The original Tsukihime is a classic. Not to mention the "sequels" and whatnot are in the original art form, and not in the remake version. Also skipping a VN because of no voices.. that makes your previous arguments seem amateur now that I read it.Last modified on 2013-09-07 at 18:25
