So, how can they be so popular?

< report >I've seen many people saying that Yuzusoft is one of, if not the most successful moege developer in Japan. Popular enough to have a good amount of their games localized. The question is what makes them do so well?

I especially expecting answers from people who played many other (especially untranslated) moege from other developers since the only VNs I've completed so far are all of their translated games (and Fureraba).

< report >I think probably the comedy/plot/h ratio has something to do with it.
That and the games are consistent in quality.

< report >IMO it's the character design, it's simple but it has a certain charm.
Also, they know what sells and tend to play it safe.

< report >What do you mean? Moege has always been the dominator of VNs, there's nothing to be questioned if a big producer making games about doting on and fucking generic cute girls become successful. Just play and fap, little to no plotting material required. And that's what VN players (mostly "simple man", I would say) needed.

< report >how to make reader take an interest to side character rather than main character only, that is how yuzusoft do until now. almost nobody from yuzusoft reader can ignore side character route

< report >Yuzusoft is doing some of the most beautiful moege so it's kind of simple.

< report >I can only say from the english title (official and fansub) titles i read so far and for me personally Yuzusoft games have:
a lot of characters sprites which makes them feel a bit more alive while talking bc the gesture/face mimik changes a lot compared to other VNs (maybe i didnt read the right ones but yuzusoft does it a lot)
the plot is most of the time well done and interesting enough with funny side charas. Sometimes its a bit of a hit or miss but overall its never rly bad or unenjoyable.
the music and artstyle is also most of the time, at least for me, rly good so yeah they play it "safe" i guess but overall above average i guess.

I have to agree. I feel there's something really attractive about it.

I agree on this too. Wakana is my personal favorite in Sanoba while Koharu and Roka (tied) is second in Senren.

< report >They are all translated in Chinese so it is possible to be popular among Chinese community. Many similar VNs are not translated so there is no chance to be a trend.

< report >I think its because it is like a sitcom that found their winning formula. Kind of like The Simpsons, Family guy or King of Hill. They all have same premise and similar episodes even though they are different shows.

Anyone played a Yuzosoft games knows the rhythm of story and its pacing. The writing is pretty simple and it is not a slice of life. They always have that scooby doo and harry potter/cartoon world to keep it from just being generic world. The comedy is ok and sex/art is usually pretty good. I personal think part of it is also the sprite/animation is top notch for not having full animation. Essential the characters are reacting and moving more than normal vn that it doesn't just feel like a static comic book. It makes it easier for people not really into vn to enjoy it more. Compare that with most other nukige I would say since I don't read regular vn its a little rare.

< report >^That's nice and all, but the Clochette game I play right now has the exact same thing. Multiple character sprite movements per line, your typical magical BS, awesome backgrounds and so on.

Also in all honesty, Studio Ryokucha had better sprite presentation than Yuzusoft and almost all other moege, and look where it brought them. They are dead, and did nothing worse than Yuzusoft... other than maybe resolution.

There's no real explanation for why Yuzusoft. Just like there's no real explanation for why Mc Donalds, other than "it's widely available". Which is probably just what Yuzusoft also does. It's also very unchanging. You know what you get when you get Yuzusoft. To an extend you won't find much other brands.Last modified on 2022-01-03 at 18:40

< report >From Clochette I enjoyed Kamikaze Explorer more than most yuzu titles, but mainly because of dekapai power and hot ero. I remember feeling nice Icha Icha as well.
You can say Clochette's main targets are oppai seijin moebutas like me.Last modified on 2022-01-05 at 13:41

< report >@13:
Well given we are talking about presentation, I can only name the one I currently play from Clochette. I don't remember how the others were, or since when they did this. Haruru Minamo ni!

Studio Ryokucha did it in a few games. Minamijuujisei Renka uses it a whole lot. It also has a pretty big cast.
Due to the more often "only one girl on screen" times in Natsuiro Koi Uta , it's less impressive in regards to presentation, though I generally liked it more myself.
Koiiro Soramoyou also works, though I didn't like it much. Others do though.
