< report >Are there any out of the ordinary romance visual novels out there? Like, for example. Just making some stuff up here.

There are 5 or 6 main heroines. The protagonist confesses to them but they all will reject him. End up with a background girl you didn't notice before.

Go on a date with a girl. She's agrees but isn't interested, instead when you're alone she mugs you and throws your unconscious body in a ditch.

Confess to the most popular girl in school. Her circle of friends bully you until you quit school.

Pay for a prostitute, it's an undercover cop, spend the night in jail.

You have a childhood friend. You start dating. She moves to America and you never see her again.

You know, just different wacky non ordinary stuff.Last modified on 2020-10-13 at 19:39

< report >Koikake is one of the most (in)famous recent examples. You have to wait until the true route, though.

< report >Koikake will be VERY disappointing though, if you aren't a weird person. In other words, I don't think it's what #1 wants. There are other examples of that kinda thing in plenty of other works as well, where people didn't get angry. It's not a reason to get angry anyway.

This looks like someone wants to play doujin games. Commercial games are all pretty save, and if people complain it's usually about nothing important. A rather fun "romance" you can find in Honoguraki Toki no Hate Yori though. Not gonna tell you why, but if you like messed up heroines, this will eventually deliver. Going towards horror/ish games is probably a good idea with this anyway. I remember an old Kure game also being pretty whack. Ashita Deatta Shoujo

Also, just a random recommendation for what can happen when romance gets "out of control": Tojita Sekai no Tori Colony . This is a special work and I really recommend the drama cd for it as well. Just don't judge it too much before you actually get past chapter 2.

So why did I say doujins again? If you think about it, there are actually some rather.. special works out there. They usually don't get very known though I guess. If it's fitting with the first post though, I dunno.Last modified on 2020-10-14 at 07:03

< report >Well, I don't think that Koikake is really bad or something. I'm not a big fan of moege but more or less enjoyed it even though it's not perfect. Other than that, there is some unexpected stuff in the Heavy Side of Memories Off -Innocent Fille- (I can't recommend it, though) and some routes in Musicus have characters agreeing that thay okay with just having sex and don't ready for more (you'll probably argue that it isn't a romance game but I'll leave it here just in case). Also Himawari + Aqua After will give you a pretty fucked up Aqua's story.

< report >That's a tough one. I agree with #3 that you probably want to search among doujins instead. Here's the few games I can think of:
1) Ano Natsu no Fukakutei na Kanojo - this very short nukige fits your request the most of the bunch.
2) Symphonic Rain - Falsita route has a... different take on romance.
3) ATRI -My Dear Moments- - You'd think she reciprocated the protag's feelings, but then you find out...
4) Nurse Love Addiction - it'll take a while to get there, but...

If you need really wacky stuff, just go for that first one and maybe ignore the rest - they're not as crazy.

< report >IDK if it would apply to the Days series of VNs, all in all they're probably normal-ish routes with twist endings.

Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi. would fall into the Days theme with some supernatural stuff afaik.
