technical problemsOh, what king of irre... нет, так, думается, будет лучше. О, так какого рода столь непреодолимые технические проблемы у вас возникли со всего лишь KiriKiri, что вы предпочли делать порт, что зело трудоёмкое дело?Last modified on 2020-10-31 at 21:16

No one cares about anything that wasn't in original if they never read original anyway
So it's completely fine to put something as long as no one gonna notice?
Someone who calls himself translator should never say or do something like this to begin with.
And this definitely should be listed as a separate vndb entry, not as patch/translation.

Who decided what translator should do and what not? I will decide what to do or say. As for writing to VNDB, this is pointless. People just won't find this translation if it is declared as a separate game (which it isn't).

Who decided what translator should do and what not? I will decide what to do or say. You're free to do whatever the heck you want. You can create an entirely different game and call it a "translation" for all I care. But it's up to us to decide what to call it in the database.
That said, we don't really have a requirement that a translation must be 100% faithful to the original. And I think there's precedence for major modifications: from my memory, r75 also included major changes to the scenario (but it's not in the notes and my memory may be hazy). Either way, I don't object to some artistic freedom in translations.
...what I find more objectionable is that is this based on the English MTL. We don't allow fan-MTLs in the database, perhaps that should also extend to based-on-MTL fan translations.Last modified on 2020-11-01 at 11:33

|< report >Why can't we just make a new rule that if anything is changed or added, there has to be some kind of detailed list explaining the what was changed and maybe even an explanation for what it was changed? I don't think it would be absurd to assume when most people see a translation release, they assume the translation is 100% faithful unless otherwise stated which at least needs to be stated here.Last modified on 2020-11-01 at 13:39|

VNDB is a user-contributed database. Rather than demand that release authors provide all the information, the idea is that users who care can figure stuff out and add it to the database. We're in the business of documenting things, not in making demands.
