< report >Never seen this before. Two images on the main page from the same game Love La Bride
Wonder what the chances are of this happening. Pretty small is my guess.

Thought it was pretty fun and had to share.

< report >I think I've seen two images from the same game maybe 5-6 times? It's not that uncommon tbh

What was good was when there were 3 images that I had uploaded all appear at once that was great, I wish I had taken a screenshot

< report >Yep, not that uncommon. I get it every now and then. Happens when you browse VNDB as much as I do...

< report >Sorry to ruin your fun, but the screenshot selection isn't perfectly uniformly random. There's a slight bias towards selecting screenshots that have been uploaded in sequence - thus resulting in a bias towards selecting from the same VN. All in the name of performance.

If you have a default filter configured, a different algorithm is used that will guarantee that you won't get multiple screenshots from the same VN. It's also much slower and has a huge bias towards always selecting the same screenshot from each VN.

Randomness is complicated. :(

< report >Has it ever been explained why sometimes there aren't the full 4 screenshots? I've had only 1, 2 and 3 screenshots before

< report >That can happen, too. I've changed the algorithms a few months ago to make that much less likely, but it's still possible.

As for why: The algorithm first selects a fixed number of random images and then filters out anything that isn't a screenshot, is linked to a deleted entry or is above the safety theshold. The initial number of selected images is large enough that you'll usually have at least 4, but in rare cases it's less.
