< report >@yorhel: Can you explain how to construct the query like that, I can't seem to get it to work.

EDIT: Never mind, I got the blacklist part working and that was what I wanted the most. By the way is there a limit to how many you can blacklist?, once I tried excluding a lot of producers and found out there was a limit.Last modified on 2020-12-24 at 21:21

No hard limits, as far as I know. No intentional ones at least, but it's quite possible that the query becomes too slow to give any results or that the url becomes too long for your browser to accept it. But that limit is pretty high.

< report >I see that you have implemented the anime filter, thanks! Two suggestions:
-Make the autocomplete only suggest animes that have an existing relation with at least one VN. e.g. When I type "Strike", I shouldn't see "Strike the Blood" suggested because it has no existing relation to any VN, but I should see "Strike the Witches" suggested because it does have an existing relation to 2 VNs already.

-Consider merging "Anime" and "Has Anime" filters.

< report >You can now save & load filters. While I haven't really put a limit on the number of filters you can save, the UI may get a little awkward if you save more than 10 or so.

Good one, done.

Consider merging "Anime" and "Has Anime" filters.
Yeah, well, easier said than done. >.>

< report >Can advanced search not re-add filters automatically? My default filter looks like link but I want it to look like link. If I don't manually remove automatically added filters before adding another filter, I see something like link and this makes it harder for me to create complex queries in one go.

Edit: Unrelated to above-mentioned issue but would it be possible to make saved filters remember the column they are sorted by?Last modified on 2021-01-05 at 08:31

Can advanced search not re-add filters automatically?
Right, that behavior has been annoying me as well. I've now changed it to only re-add those filters when the entire query can be described in the default filters.

saved filters remember the column they are sorted by?
That's the plan, but that'll take some more time as I plan to revamp the way that the listing is displayed & configured.

I feel like constructing a query like link through the UI shouldn't be possible (and why does it return 0 results?).
Heh, lazy coding on my end, but mostly harmless. The query optimization assumes that the same tag isn't listed twice. It basically expands to:
vn.id IN(SELECT vid FROM tags_vn_inherit WHERE tag IN(23,23) GROUP BY vid HAVING COUNT(tag) = 2)

< report >I would expect link to only list releases where Azuma Shione is directly linked to but it doesn't, is this intentional?

Also the fact that we can use character filters on release browser is pretty well hidden, maybe add a "Character" button to VN dropdown or consider creating a "Character" tab just like we have for VN filters.

< report >I'm not going to spend a lot of effort on the release filters. Fixing the seiyuu filters to recognize char<->release relations is likely going to be complex and far too slow.

Regarding the nested sub-filters... yeah, need to find a good way to make that more discoverable in general.

< report >You are likely aware of it but just in case: It's not only seiyuu filters that do not recognize the char<->release relations, other filters don't recognize it either. See link.

< report >Eh, yes, indeed. The char<->release relations are ignored for all filters.

I just changed the way that the [+] menu works with respect to nested filters, let's see if this is more discoverable and intuitive.

< report >I think the new menu structure is pretty neat. It solves the problem mentioned in t14995.43 (first paragraph) as well. Well done!
