Is a localization likely?

< report >And that's another VN on the list of potential candidates for a potential localization in my opinion.
What do you think? Do you think anyone (like Nekonyan, Sekai Project, Mangagamer, etc...) will localize this title at some point in the future? I hope they do, you know? I'd quite like to pick this game up if that happens.
Of course I'm not going to kid myself assuming publishers take requests or anything, but...
Well? Do you think it'll happen?Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 00:09

< report >... wasn't there already a localisation for this planned, re-releasing the fan trans? did it get canned?

< report >DMM Points can be bought via PayPal, get it there on sale and then DL the TL somewhere, probably won't get anything better for the foreseeable future. Yuzusoft isn't known for allowing NN to decensor their titles.

If you have problems with SoftDenchi, read t14007.4. An addendum to that, I had a small problem with SoftDenchi on Cattleya titles. Just searching for the next iteration of 4D 5A didn't work, I had to delete (beginning at the top) everything until one iteration of 4D 5A when the exe would get its icon back. Probably some random version of SD that tried to mix things up a bit.Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 00:36

< report >#3, I had a similar problem with Zutto Sukishite Takusan Sukishite. Even though it says it's SD, it's clearly a completely different type, which has two exes active at once, one calling home to open and authenticate the second (the actual game executable) or something. I have no idea how to bypass it but tbh it doesn't really matter, game works fine anyway and unlike some weridos I don't intend to play the game again 10 years from now when the servers are shut down or whatever

< report >I'll admit I don't know what SoftDenchi is (although I did read one topic about it which made me burst out laughing) but I've already played one Yuzusoft title already and it went off without a hitch (although there was one minorly headache-inducing problem which involved error messages appearing every time I left the game running idle for too long, or put my PC to sleep while it was running) and to be fair I'm willing to bet that since four Yuzusoft titles have already fallen into the hands of Nekonyan, there's hardly any reason why this one shouldn't.

Ah. Actually... didn't Favourite titles like Hoshimemo black out on launch if your PC wasn't set to Japanese locale?Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 13:58

< report >SoftDenchi is the DRM that the online game seller site DMM (among others) uses. It calls home once when you first launch the game to authenticate it's legit and then pretty much doesn't get in your way.

Also yes, Favorite games have something in them that causes crashes if you don't have the right system settings all the way down to the latest game. I forget what exactly it was that fixed it but it was something like locale or time zone or date formatLast modified on 2021-01-10 at 14:02

< report >SoftDenchi is also what MG uses in their release of ef games, it runs whenever you launch either game and the process doesn't stop when you quit the game. Have to kill it off manually.

< report >Sounds like a pain. But Yuzusoft games don't use this DRM in their games, do they?

< report >I can confirm at least Café Stella uses it for the DMM release (the disc release is probably DRM free), and it took me a grand total of 10 seconds to deactivate the drm. Even if you leave the SD running in the background its performance effect is negligible and anyone who says otherwise probably needs a better computer...

All you need to do is open and authenticate it once and then they practically give you the drm-free exe, and you just need to jump through a few simple hoops to get it.Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 14:25

< report >Right, okay. Got to say, though, I've been lucky so far. I'm on my sixth VN and I've not had any DRM issues yet...!
By the way, what's a DMM release?

< report >... read #6 where i explain that dmm is essentially the go to online store for buying digital vns in japan (c.f. steam but there's no annoying steam client, it's just buy through the browser and download)

yuzusoft games are iirc dmm exclusives so you can't buy it digitally on any other website

fwiw the only times i've ever had drm problems were with fate/hollow ataraxia and mahoyo where the disc check failed without even trying to spin up the drive. there was a patch for it though which allowed you to just enter the serial code from the box without doing the disc check (which is a life saver because now my laptop doesn't have a disc drive, so it would save me from having to connect an external disc drive each time)Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 14:43

< report >So this store... can you access it or buy anything from it outside of Japan? If so, that makes things a lot easier. I'm still waiting on Sekai Project's Rewrite+ release, for instance, so if download editions for Japanese VNs can be accessed from that site I could still use the Amaterasu translation patch.
Is Noble Works on that site, then? (Although yeah you'd probably have SoftDenchi to deal with)

< report >You can buy pretty much everything on the site outside of Japan. You can purchase DMM "points" with PayPal (n.b. 1 point has a value of 1 yen) and use them for 18+ content, so it's really convenient to buy digital rather than physical.

I will note that there are a very small handful of region-restricted purchase page games (you may never run into them)... but if you use a proxy just when buying those items, they'll appear in your "purchased items" list without a proxy so you won't have to worry about it.

here's a link to the dmm page linkLast modified on 2021-01-10 at 16:15

I bought Natsuzora Kanata on DLSite. But this release also used SoftDenchi. Also, the only Yuzusoft's titles on DLsite are Natsukana, ExE and BraBan - so it indeed seems that newer titles are DMM exclusive.

< report >the website is dlsoft dot dmm dot co dot jp

i'm pretty sure none of the others are it. if you can't access it, use a proxy and try again. fwiw i'm in the uk and it works fine without a proxy.Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 17:07

< report >dude you sound like a 10 year old on the internet lol

the message is just legalese for them covering their asses from lawsuits from foreigners. it's perfectly safe. but then again everyone who uses dmm on this website could just be shills sent from dmm to scam people like you

you would never know.Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 17:42

< report >#19, it (i'm assuming you still mean noble works) should work after removing the SD drm, which should leave you with the exact same files as the disc based versions. i personally have never tried applying a patch to dmm game however i know people who have successfullyLast modified on 2021-01-10 at 18:26

< report >Rewrite has no download version as seen on the VNDB page. You will have to order a physical copy. Fortunately it's common enough that even without a mail proxy, you should be able to just buy a copy off ebay or amazon or something
As for noble works, the official translation website says it supports the dmm version: linkLast modified on 2021-01-10 at 19:03

< report >Anyway, that aside, if Noble Works is going to get localized, it'll probably be Nekonyan since they've already localized a few of Yuzusoft's titles. They could even be working on it in secret even now for all we know.

Actually, one more thing. Assuming you were to buy the VN from DMM outside of Japan, since you get charged in Yen, is it possible to convert the currency?Last modified on 2021-01-10 at 20:33

< report >#23, if you buy DMM points with PayPal, then PayPal converts the currency for you and you are charged in whatever currency your card is set up for (i.e. USD if you're American, GBP if British etc.). Yes the exchange rate isn't the best but if you have a card like mine then your foreign purchases come with a pretty unfair commission and bad exchange rates anyway so PayPal is the way to go.

< report >Rewrite+ gets a Steam release soon enough, so getting the original Rewrite now is kinda silly. If you know Japanese, Rewrite+ is the way to go as well.
