I can't seem to find "Original Language" in the releases tab.
Original language is a property of the VN, not really the release. So that's moved to the Visual Novel -> Original language subfilter. You can use now use VN filters on the release search, after all.
(And it's not all that many clicks extra, depending on what you want. For some things it's fewer clicks than the old system. This is a common criticism of pretty much every change I make, so I usually try to make sure the number of clicks doesn't differ too wildly)

@52: You should probably describe what you're doing, because this works fine for me.

< report >The new advanced search is now also available for character search. You can combine it with VN filters, too.
EDIT: Role filter is broken, will fix in a sec; EDIT#2: There we go, all fixed!Last modified on 2021-01-16 at 09:43

< report >In old search system there was an option to show only VNs that are or aren't on my list. Now I can't figure out how to exclude VNs that are already on my list.

My Labels > select all > invert

< report >@59
It doesn't work. I either get 0 results in mode:any link
or full list without anything excluded in mode:all link
Edit: I figured out it's because I have some VNs on my list without any label. And the search system doesn't distinguish them from VNs that aren't on my list at all. Old search didn't have this problem.Last modified on 2021-01-19 at 16:18

Yea I think it's a bug in the 'Unlabeled' option. Happens to me as well.
I have everything labelled so it ends up not being a problem

< report >"Unlabeled" implies that the VN is on your list but does not have any labels, inverting that filter keeps the implication but matches anything that does have a label, so you can combine that in a query saying "Unlabeled or not Unlabeled" and you get everything on your list - this is what the old filter conversion code does. The inverse is not currently possible if you also want to exclude unlabeled VNs. This is super ugly and I'd like a simple "(not) on my list" checkbox, but I haven't a clue how to integrate that into the UI. Separate filter would be easiest, but is kind of ugly, too...

< report >Is it possible to add search functions according to release dates with character-based search options ?

This way, it would be easier to find a newly released VN consisting of character with relevant traits.

< report >I've fixed the "not Unlabeled" filter to do work the same way as the rest of the label filters. Also added a new "My List" filter where you can easily filter VNs that are (not) on your list. Not very elegant but does the trick.

Is it possible to add search functions according to release dates with character-based search options ?
Already there.

< report >While it is absolutely lovely to get more advanced search functionality the drop in usability for quick and simple searches is too big. Why not maintain some of the old layout with the ability to just click on "advanced search" to get the funky new one.Last modified on 2021-01-21 at 19:02

< report >I hope you can add an option for an "empty" (i.e. includes all VNs) filter at least.
Right now the only way to accomplish that is to make that the default of make a filter with only one option, load that, delete the option and search again.
Or at least let us save empty filters (it says there's nothing to save but that's exactly what I wanna do).
But since I'm only interested in Japanese VNs anyway, I made my "empty" filter just games that have Japanese but it's always gonna be a bit of an hassle to search for other things outside my default filter and my "empty" filter.

< report >I'm missing the 'Reset' button very much. When I want to find a VN, that won't be found with my filter settings. Of course, I can make a preset with no filters, but it will take more clicks to activate it.

< report >I'm sorry but this is very confusing. The fact that you have to manually make an input also adds a hint of tediousness to it.

I want the option to switch to the older one at least, I dislike the premise of forcing new features without easing us into it.
