< report >Looks like VNDB is listing DokuDoku who actually do mtl instead of Dargoth who did the real translation link

< report >Monmusu RPG is a bit of a mess altogether, especially after multiple suspect edits by u175564, that I would love is someone knowledgeable would explain the situation with those games.

From what I gather, and what the edit r39564.15 corroborated, Dargoth has translated about 76 % of Monmusu Quest! Paradox RPG Zenshou, before abandoning the project. It was later picked up by DokuDoku. Are you saying that DokuDoku is using MT for the project, because if so, then the last Dargoth's partial patch should be the only legitimate entry in the DB.

Monmusu Quest! Paradox RPG Chuushou has been wholy translated by DokuDoku. So, if that is the machine translation, then the only legitimate patch is the interface patch by Dargoth r55688.5.

Did I get this right. or is there something more complex with this tale of two cities?

< report >Some time ago I was looking this up on the translation Discord, and from what I understand Dargoth made a partial for both games. He translated the whole story for this one while leaving some h scenes untranslated. Then he moved to the second game and translated around 85% of the story for it (which is posted on his Bitbucket) before abandoning it. After which it was picked up and finished by those guys from DokuDoku. When I tried the parts DokuDoku did back then it read like a mtl, and some of the users on the translation Discord also claimed it to be one.

So what I believe happened was them building on Dargoth patch to finish the rest with mtl.

< report >wait what, who in their right mind actually thought mtl is a good experience for a plot-and-meta-heavy game like MGQ?

< report >Please stop spreading misinformation regarding Paradox's English translation. As user "wyldstrykr" pointed out in post #5 of this thread, DokuDoku does NOT use machine translation. The translation is done by a group of enthusiasts, as opposed to being done by a single translator as was the case with Dargoth previously (who stopped translating the game years ago).

Furthermore, if you actually bother to check out the game's English translation, you will realize that it is almost flawless, which could never be the case if the translation was indeed done by a machine. There was some controversy regarding the changes made by some users in the past, but that has all been resolved long ago.

Now, go play the game and have fun.
