I mean - what even the point? How much time you will spend on it - 10 minutes? Without single CG? Are they remove title in-game art in the beginning too, I wonder? ))Last modified on 2021-04-17 at 15:19

< report >... i don't get why people still do not understand this
it is not an all ages nukige, it's a front so they can actually get it on steam. nobody expects you to play the all-ages version, it's just a cover. it is just there so you can get the exe to run on the full, patched, files which you can download separately for free. i'm bored of seeing threads like this, you all know full well what it is and what you're meant to do with it.
tell me when they actually release a PAID "all ages nukige" with a PAID "uncensor patch" to go with itLast modified on 2021-04-17 at 15:43

< report >I understand what they want. I just wanted to point out how ridiculous it's looking, that's all. For me it's a pinnacle of modern society hypocrisy. Titles like that shouldn't be on a platform like steam at all - OR they should be as is, without any censorship - to advertise potential customers exactly what they need and expect from 120% porno. And definitely not like this - where they can't even show a single CG in a screenshots and can't say anything in description text - about what this game really is. It's like they expect to sell it to kindergarteners or something. If anything - one really can sue them for deceiving their customers and false advertisement. What a travesty.Last modified on 2021-04-17 at 18:48

< report >Blame the vagaries of US law. This high school student is 18+ we swear might not hold water if actually tested. Hentai skirts the gray area between acceptable porn and CP. As long as it's vague in US law, Steam will be weird about eroge.

< report >@4 It's not really just about the law (although I admit that is part of it, since Steam is international and they likely don't want to deal with any legal complications), but mainly I think that Steam just doesn't want to be associated with it. And it's not just potential character ages, anything that's too controversial is probably not going to be on Steam in an uncensored format any time soon. They want no headlines that they are selling rape/loli/whatever games, but they still want the cash, and gamers want a convenient and trustworthy storefront. The result is the odd compromise we have going right now.
Steam sells games that (as released) most people won't object to, and whatever patches people install outside of steam is none of their concern. Thus they get cash and avoid bad headlines. Meanwhile gamers only have to give their credit card information to Steam (instead of potentially irreputable eroge companies), and get to keep Steam's convenient interface. Sure it would be better if Steam would just release the full games, but since Steam's not willing to risk it at the moment, this is the next best option.Last modified on 2021-04-17 at 23:23

< report >I wonder what Sekai is trying to achieve here. If only they’d put the time and effort cutting contents from a typical nukige to a more plot driven one.

< report >I understand steam offers varied payment methods and some people have no choice but to go through there but everyone else really need to forget about steam and buy stuff directly from dedicated storefronts such as Denpa themselves instead.

JAST will become the VN equivalent of Steam/GOG, if it isn't already. At this point MG is the only publisher/localizer that they don't have a catalogue for, I'm gonna ignore the fact they're already selling select hardcopies through J-List. They offer somewhat regional pricing afaik and accept PayPal + others, which makes it easier for non-CC heavy countries/individuals to buy there.
