< report >So basically textractor worked but is there a way to read while the vn is full screen? Even when I tried reading with it while the vn wasn't full screen no matter how small I made the textractor it wasn't comfortable.

< report >Alt+Tab is your friend. But if you’ve just started learning Japanese and have to look up a million words, then there’s no other choice but to switch to window size. I suggest you change your windows background to black, hide or make the taskbar transparent and use Rocket Dock instead. After around 6 months you’ll feel comfortable enough to only look up once every few sentences or even an entire scene, then you can just read vn fullscreen with ocasional Alt+Tab.

< report >I have never tried this but I imagine you could set up a cheap 2nd monitor to use as your textractor/google screen. That way you can have the game full screen

< report >Maybe I'm weird, but I actually often feel uncomfortable when reading VN in fullscreen mode (I have 24" 1080p screen) - it gets kind of straining when I cannot see whole scene at once. That's why I usually switch to 720p window. The positive side effect is that I always have screen space left for parser window for look-up ;) I usually put Chiitrans window directly under VN's window.

Also, I often read older titles, that use 640x480 or 800x600 windows, so I guess I'm pretty used to that format - and such low res tends to look bad streched over big screen.Last modified on 2021-09-12 at 08:07

< report >Just buy a new monitor. It's like 20 bucks in a thrift shop and eroge are best played on 4:3 anyways.
