< report >I though we had paid and free releases separated. Is those versions are merged, how we should treat the new entry: non-free or freeware?

< report >I mean, if a paid and a free release exists simultaneously, it's usually because the paid release has something extra. Usually it's something very basic, like a gallery or character costumes. In more complex cases it's some additional scenes.
However, if a release was initially paid, but was later turned into freeware with the same content, we don't create a new entry, but just turn the existing release into freeware.
There is another possibility. Patreon rules explicitly disallow to disseminate 18+ content on their platform for free (though many authors skirt or outright break that rule). Some devs release a game on Patreon with a minimal charge (like 1$) in order not to break the rule, but put the game for free on other platforms, like Itch.io, with the same content. In those cases, we also should only add a single release and mark it freeware.
So, which of the three cases is with these games? As the Patreon is dead (and the platform is unwaybackable), I'm not sure if there is any difference between the Patreon and the Itch.io releases.Last modified on 2021-10-09 at 23:16

< report >ehhhhh... I'm sorry then.
I tried to update information about Pink Tea Games games, but between removed Newgrounds games, removed Patreon posts and the releases on Itch.io and Subscribe Star, I got confused and created some new releases.
Also, I discovered that their Patreon is still alive with 224 posts and who knows how many were deleted; so that goes my intention to update information in one day, *sight*... Game Jams are so much easier to track...
So far, these are the releases with the same content I could find (the only difference were paid releases for early access content, nothing more):
r78430 and r83737 - Slave Lord
r83739 and r78429 - Bundle
r70110 and r70108 - Slave Lords of the Galaxy
r78245 and r78246 - Elven Conquest

< report >Ezezin, I can see you have time-voted on Slave Lord. I have just tried this game and it is so not a visual novel I'm baffled someone has added it. Does it get more visual-novely later, or are the first 30 minutes indicative of the game, because in that case I'll remove it post-haste?

< report >It does have some uninterrupted narration and dialogue portions here an there but it's minimal; it only happens at 4 portions of the game (and two of them are the prologue and the unlockable side story at the end the game).
From the total play time, I could say that I spent 50-70 minutes reading, the rest was just gameplay and very short dialogue/narration sequences.
To me it didn't felt as a visual novel hybrid. One more thing: that was my second playtrough, so I spent even less time on gameplay on that run.Last modified on 2021-10-11 at 05:52
