< report >I have seen absolutely nothing about this game and know pretty much nothing. but the tid bits i hear here and there do nothing but praise the main character. Is he really that good? im envisioning a Lelouch type character? is that too much to hope for? or is he indeed on that level?

< report >Yes he is really that good - proactive, funny. Voiced as well, so that gives him a ton of character. The best part about this game to be honest, the rest of the game is pretty meh (especially the additional content from console releases).

< report >He is more memorable than any heroine. That's how good he is.

< report >It's been a while since I played it, but on my two playthroughs (when the normal version and when the Superior Entelecheia was released), I found both times pretty fun.

The story is pretty much focused on him, which is why the playing order is enforced and each heroine ends up being just a piece to complete his puzzle, but they all play their parts in the story really well. He being voiced is a big plus for english-only readers, so the protagonist's character isn't lost in translation.

< report >Granted I am not too far in the story yet but so far he is just annoying the hell out of me.
I get what they are going for but it's over the top.
I hope this changes for me soon or this is going to be a struggle to finish.

< report >You should at least progress until you see the second OP movie. If you still don't like Narita after that and you're not at least very interested in any heroine's development, I'm not sure you'll enjoy the rest of the game.

< report >That is where I got up to before turning it off for the night.
He did improve a little so I will stick it out for now as I am invested in the story I guess

< report >Just started the game and this guy has sexually assaulted two girls. Is this what the famed """"Chad protag"""" does? He reads more like an incel power fantasy lmao.

From now on, I will be referring to this guy as sex offender shinri

< report >I guess it shouldn't surprise me that ppl praise this incel with strokes of gary stu when Rance is considered one of the best VN MC's. (Taimao route)

< report >I guess it shouldn't surprise me that illiterate people who can't even spell names consider putting incel tag on whatever character they see.

< report >Oh wow, I did a typo. This makes my whole statement false because writing correctly it is more important than the content itself!

Truly amazing. Oh great sage, illustrate me what is an incel according to your perspective, which seems to be the only one which matters.

On another note, don't bother. I read more and this dude is the clear definition of incel (until he gets sex, that didn't stop him from spouting mysoginia, and bullshit) plus, you reek of being one of those who pretend to know everything and then copy-paste the definition from urbandictionary.Last modified on 2022-01-24 at 18:36

< report >The best part is when he gropes Eru in front of the fucking school staff and gets away with it because his almighty chad-ness nullifies all means of consequence.

Seriously, this VN may as well have Shinri himself plastered on the cover. While at first I thought he'd be the charismatic kind of chuuni MC like Okube from S;G, he just turned out to be arrogant and self-absorbed.

And while he does get a bit better after the prologue, most of the game following that is comprised of some entity (be it friend or foe) attempting to put him in his place, only for him to simply say "No U" and one-punch them whilst laughing on top of his high chad horse telling the worthless plebs around him to bow down.Last modified on 2022-01-26 at 00:18

< report >He's basically a light novel protag in a VN power wise, but also has a refreshing personality aka he isn't scared of panties or touching girls until the h scene happens. The groping is over the top, but I'd take this over another scared of girls no personality guy for the thousandth time.

< report >I really have to wonder which kind of VN's you read to state this is refreshing. There's plenty of VN's who have interesting protags who doesn't need to be rapists in order to be "refreshing"

Haku from Utawarerumono, Haruaki from Raging Loop, as mentioned before Okabe Rintarou
from S;G, Masaya from Aokana (He is horny, but never forces anything onto the girls) Chester from Enigma. Those are only exemples, there's plenty of them.

I just finished the OG part from the VN, and I have to say it has been a long time since I hated a MC so much as I did with Shinri Narita. It's not only for his "chadness" his whole motivation is awful. What a joke, seriously.

< report >It's more that a confident with girls main lead is really rare. Okabe is deathly afraid of physical affection, as are about 80% of moege protags before they start dating.
I found Haku(both versions) boring. The original is basically a gary stu, while Haku 2 is just bland, though that's mostly cause Mask of Truth made me despise the entire series. Masaya is also really bland, outside of his trauma he has basically no character traits that other generic nice guys don't have. His special trait is that he can teach and that's about it.

I do like some other vn guys, like the main's from Primal hearts and Marshmallow. Active, smart, psychically capable and so on. But most VN leads in translated works are bad. Scared of psychical contact, no actual hobbies or interests, no goals in life, average at everything. I hate the self insert blandness that most VN lead's have. It's great when the main lead is actually an active part of the story instead of basically a cheerleader to the girls plot.Last modified on 2022-01-26 at 23:56

< report >TFW when you've heard people say that Shinri is the best VN protag ever only to learn he's just another dime a dozen, overdone to death, self insert isekai protag except he's in a VN not a bottom tier anime.

Jury's still out on whether this a statement on VN protags being so bland even what would be considered a bottom tier protag from any other medium is considered better or whether VN readers tastes are so shit that what would be considered a bottom tier protag from any other medium is considered good by their standards.Last modified on 2022-01-27 at 09:54

< report >#19: Oh, now I get it. Certainly what you mention is true due most VN's protags being youngsters who by the premise have 0 kind of experience with girls. But I think from one extreme to other is kinda bad. Just my opinion.

#21 : I don't think Shinri is a self-insert nor Isekai protag. He presents himself as a power fantasy as what everyone thinks that is "cool" But that's broght to certain extremes which makes him impossible to self-insert into. Also, then he reveals his real personality, and against all odds he is even less interesting cause he basically has a tunel vision syndrome towards "his objetive" and the VN hammers to you the same phrase or similar to an extent which is stupid.
