< report >ok, tested the beta feature. so if you don't fill a language with title it will show the main title instead. makes sense, but there's no indicator for that nor the indication that filling the title is optional. these empty title looks weird as hell too. I expect some confusion from them if we don't clarify.

these empty title looks weird as hell too.I agree, but the problem with using the usual dark blue color is that that is so often abused for non-official, MTL things and such that it may add even more confusion as to its meaning. How does removing those empty lines and moving the flags to the main title sound?

How does removing those empty lines and moving the flags to the main title sound?Turns out that wasn't going to work, since we also need a place to display the MTL flag. Ended up just copying the main title to the other languages.

< report >Releases have a main title? Why? I mean, it makes sense if we are talking about VN entries, but why releases too? I see little value in having main title in releases when the main VN entry already has that information. I wonder how I didn't noticed that 🤔.
For the time being, I'm thinking on using the main language the company made the translation for a certain region, so for example, if Sekai Project released something in English and Chinese in European countries, the main title should be English.
For international releases, use whichever the primary language is used by the publisher.
Of course, all this only if a release has multiple language titles, but none are the VN's original language.
Again, I don't see the value in having a main title in releases, I believe the translated titles should be enough and in VN pages (when multiple languages are available) use whatever sorting system was used before the update.Last modified on 2022-09-29 at 07:18

< report >You mean an option needed for users who only want to see the title in its main language; and also needed so things don't break if someone selected that option? Hmm... I might see it's usefulness after all.
Edit: Minor suggestion: Add an original language filter for releases, just like we have for visual novel searches.Last modified on 2022-09-29 at 07:51

You mean an option needed for users who only want to see the title in its main languageI mean, that's the default. We need to somehow select a title to display in the absense of any language preferences, so that "main title" selection has to exist in some form. I can fix an algorithm to try and arbitrarily select one, but it seemed like a useful thing to manually set.
Minor suggestion: Add an original language filter for releases, just like we have for visual novel searches.Eh, the main title is not necessarily the "original language", so not sure how useful that would be.

so that "main title" selection has to exist in some formI understand. No further complains from my part then.
so not sure how useful that would beIt was an idea I had while I was testing the display languages and see if how it worked with releases. It's not something I will be using, so not a big deal.

For example, r79335.5 is titled as "ドールナイト：Dreaming On the Last Li" on both the Simplified Chinese and Japanese versions of the Google Play page, while the in-game titles are different.

If an official source (stores, official websites, etc.) consistently includes a romaji title alongside the main title (like in G-senjou no Maou and Saya no Uta), both titles should be considered as a single unit.
