< report >Just ran into a weird error page today. I was trying to find something and while quickly going from page to page to find it, I got a error saying 'congratulations' or something, then saying I reached my rate limit somehow and repeats of it could result in a IP ban. Was this because I was going from page to page too fast (maybe 1 page a second)? I don't wanna end up getting banned if I can help it.

< report >Error page in question.

When I say "Excessive requests" I do mean Excessive, which isn't really something you're going to achieve unless you specifically aim to bring down the site. Or, more likely, attempt to crawl tons of pages with a bot. Overenthusiastic browsing isn't going to trigger that.

< report >I recently got this error page as well and I was not trying to bring down the site. It just appeared while I was middle-clicking through *all* VN links from a tag page. I just calmed down and spaced my clicks a little and had no more problems, so I think the error page and the requests limits are okay. I just wanted to mention that it definitely can appear during overenthusiastic browsing.

< report >#3 I've seen this a couple of times as well while rapidly refreshing a tab (maybe 2-3 refreshes per second at most) to see new quotes.

< report >(I was commenting on the "Excessive requests may result in a permanent IP ban" line. I'm aware that regular browsing can get you the error page, I hit it myself sometimes)

< report >That message has only been there for a few years right? I've been here since early 2015 and most of that time I don't think that message was there.
