I just watched episode 17, can anyone who is following the anime and has read it tell me if it is following the true ending or is it a mix of the true ending and cat-girl's route.

It follows VN true but from ep. 17 they cut some parts of the plot cause don't have enough air time to include it all

Finished the anime. Fucking wow, it's very rare for something to live up to as much hype as it had. There were a few episodes focusing on the side characters like Feyris and Ruka that I didn't care for because they felt very rushed..but, still, this was a quality series with some great characters, particularly the leads Okabe and Kurisu, and an incredibly well told story. Will definitely be reading this novel.

Is this vn worth to play after anime?

This vn is definitely worth the read if you've already watched the anime. If anything, there are more routes to explore into more depth of the supporting characters, and simply more detail in nearly everything overall. I ended up watching the anime before I read it, and still enjoyed both of them to their fullest.

There's also a movie coming out next month set after the events of the true end in the Steins;Gate worldline . Hopefully it'll be released and translated before I've had the chance to spoil myself of the plot.

On myanimelist it shows that the movie was aired April 20, 2013. But I remember reading somewhere that it already came out in Europe last year, so maybe we'll have the pleasure of seeing this film either before or around the fall this year.Last modified on 2013-03-13 at 02:48

^ On myanimelist it shows that the movie WILL BE AIRED April 20, 2013, in Japanese theaters, so the Blu-ray release will probably be around Christmas or so, maybe early next year even.

link came out last year and is probably the thing you remember reading about.Last modified on 2013-03-13 at 13:15

Do the events from the Steins;gate movie also take place in the visual novel or is it an anime original ending?

They follow the OVA episode, which was an anime original.

I dropped the anime, would i like the visual novel? I found the anime very "meh" (didnĀ“t see much) =/

anime is a faithful adaptation of the "true" VN route, so if you didn't like it chances high you wouldn't like VN either.

@15
At what episode did you drop the anime? I hear it takes some time, until halfway of the anime or so, for most people to get sucked into the story.Last modified on 2014-01-06 at 07:57

@18 you didn't ever get to the good part lol

you literally quit at the introduction

the VN also takes some time to get going, so the problem here isn't whether you'd like its plot or not, it's whether you have the patience to sit through buildup. If you don't then it doesn't really matter how good the story after isLast modified on 2014-01-06 at 14:09

well I can tell you first off that the anime actually cut out a lot of the boring bits that were present in the vn... so if you dropped the anime you're going to have an even more unpleasant time with the vn
