< report >It's a bit more nuanced:
- Visual novels should at least have a trial available to be included in the DB, to weed out VNs that likely aren't getting a release.
- If a VN with a trial is then not going to ever get a release, whether it remains in the DB should depend on whether the trial itself can be considered VN-worthy (most are, I think). The VN entry then stops being about the full game (which never existed and will not exist) but becomes about the trial itself.
- It can then be argued that the trial is, in fact, the full release of the VN entry. But we keep marking it as a trial because that's how it was intended.
From that perspective, a trial release should indeed count as "VN has been released", but I'm not sure that's alltogether intuitive either...

< report >Here are some (hopefully) intuitive alternatives:
1) Delete "VN"s that won't get anything more than trials.
2) Instead of displaying "Unknown" for VNs that won't get anything more than trials, display something like "YYYY-MM-DD (Trial Only)"
3) Mark trials as partial releases if there won't be anything more for that VN and handle it like how partial releases are handled.Last modified on 2019-11-28 at 11:43

What determines the order of languages in the list of releases? As far as I can tell, it's not alphabetical by language, nor is it by release date of release associated with language nor by database addition date. It's also not consistent between games (e.g. Neko Para Vol.1 Soleil Kaiten Shimashita! goes EN/JP/CH.. and BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger goes JP/EN/FR...). Is there a way to change this?Last modified on 2019-12-01 at 05:35

< report >I have r56177 set to "obtained". This release contains both Steins;Gate and Steins;Gate Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram, but Steins;Gate Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram doesn't show on the "My Visual Novel List" page.
Do VNs only get added to the user's list if they're part of the release at the time the user first sets a status on the release, meaning later release updates don't reflect themselves in the user's list automatically?
(I see in the history that Steins;Gate Senkei Kousoku no Phenogram wasn't part of the release at first; I suspect that when I first set the release to "Pending", it only had the one component VN listed. But it was definitely part of the release when I flipped it from "Pending" to "Obtained", so a status change isn't refreshing the linkage.)

This is a bug I intend to fix with the upcoming lists update (t13136). Right now you can just add the new VNs manually, does the same thing.

This is the actual link to the store page (NSFW, obviously):
This is what VNDB made after I copied the item id in the field:
If you open the first link, works. Try the VNDB generated one and all you'll get is a 403 ngix error.

< report >If you only exclude tags and not include any tag then the spoiler level get reset to "Hide spoilers". Because of this I thought "Save as Default" did not save the spoiler level (t950.654) but I was wrong, it does properly save the setting if you include any tag.
This might be intended if exclusion doesn't care about spoiler level. But even if that's the case, I would rather it didn't reset it because I want to be able to save my spoiler level setting without including any tag by default.Last modified on 2020-01-06 at 07:42
