It doesn't do a diff if the titles are less than 10 characters, as - typically - for such short titles the change tends to be easy to notice and any colors are more likely to be a useless distraction. Would've been useful in this case though...Maybe make it less than 10 characters and ASCII-only?

Funnily enough, the opposite is true for votes on unreleased games. You can add it on the game's page but not on your VN list.Yeah, I'm aware of this one. Voting is permitted from VN pages when there's at least a trial available, but the vote check from your VN list only looks at the VN's (completed) release date as a performance optimization.

< report >I feel like the results of link doesn't make much sense semantically. If the original language of a VN is Japanese, then it should follow that that particular VN is available in Japanese, right? But the aforementioned query gives results that contradict this.

< report >Seems like a bug with the original language detection taking trials into account when there are full releases available. I'm not going to fix that directly - don't really know what else is affected if I change the algorithm - but I had planned to make "original language" an editable VN field anyway.
But even with that, "original language" would indicate the language the VN has originally been written in, but there wouldn't be a requirement it has actually been published in that language, would there? Hmm....

< report >I'd say no - even if the source material is Japanese, if the VN itself has been authored in Chinese then that's the "original" language of the VN.

< report >this should say average 7.00 (good), not average 7.00 (decent). Decent is for 6. Every rating except for 10 (and 1) rounds down to the rating below i.e. avg 9.00 is very good instead of excellent, avg 2.00 is worst ever instead of awful.
Easily solvable by making the brackets n.00 to n.99 instead of the current n.01 to (n+1).00

< report >Original language is described as "Language the visual novel has been originally written in." in the search. However, in practice it takes the language of the first release. There are some rare cases where the game was written in one language but released first in another. For example The LoveKami series from Pulltop (link, link, link). Those don't come up if you search for original language:japanese, even though they were written by Japanese writers and then translated into English.
Perhaps original language should only be linked to releases which have the developer listed?
EDIT: I see you touched upon this in #532. I thought about other solutions, like original language being bound to the primary language of the developer company or the writer. However, primary language doesn't mean they can't write something in a different language (though I assume it's not common). Hence my suggestion to simply ignore releases that aren't linked to the developer.Last modified on 2021-01-17 at 17:04

< report >When adding a trait, in the trait description preview, typing i#### properly shows up as another trait's name, but in the final/submitted version of the trait description, it just shows up as i####. Example: the description of Shoe Licking. I believe this may be a minor bug/inconsistency.
Also: in a trait's information page, if a character is listed in multiple releases, each release shows up as its own VN. Example: Shoe Licking Oohara Momoko is featured in "Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin, Kosutte Gingin". Not sure how easy this actually is to fix, but it seems like another minor bug/inconsistency, so I thought I'd mention it while I'm here.

< report >For games like Neko Para Vol.4 Neko to Patissier no Noel or Isekai Sakaba no Sextet, why are English releases listed first, even though the original language is set to JP? The release date is the same for JP/EN/CN - first release includes all these langauges, and it's clearly not alphabetical order, so it must be set to list English releases first.Last modified on 2021-03-01 at 23:16
