Btw after seeing the sales on Steam, Overdrive wants to make a sequel (link) as far as I know. On one hand, that'd be an obvious cashgrab, on the other I don't mind it that much if it saves them from getting bankrupt.

what interested me most from that link is their plans to release Higurashi. while they have some publicity from Go Go Nippon, releasing a good VN on steam might actually hook a few people that werent expecting it to be good. will be interesting to see how that one goes at least.

< report >As for the Harry Potter offtopic: link :P

Higurashi is already greenlit, apparently MG is working on fixing some issues, so it could be released anytime now. They should use this newly found inerest of the Steam community to roll it out asap.

No more Harry from me...

Higurashi is a good title, because it doesn't focus on romance. A good old crime story can lure people in. Then they realize what VN are actually like (v1439)...Last modified on 2014-03-02 at 20:26

< report >Eh, I think Milk Pot was worse, and I actually like futa.

That aside, I'm curious if the PS2 sprite patch could work on the steam version.Last modified on 2014-03-03 at 05:59

< report >The PS2 sprite patch is not going to work since Higurashi is getting ported to a new engine. All the patches are going to have to be remade.Last modified on 2014-03-03 at 07:01

< report >Luckily, Doddler is porting all titles to self-written Unity engines nowadays. And he already said that he'd be willing to release the source code for Really? Really! if someone's interested. I'm not an expert on hacking, but I don't think hacking the new version of Higurashi should be all that hard if you have the source code.

< report >Doddler:
Since I'll be the one working on updated version of Higurashi, I'll try to make it patchable.
