< report >@29 Nope I'd rather die than turn old, who wants to be all wrinkly and you can't do stuff like you can when your young.

< report >so you would rather die right now than get older?

cause older doesnt really mean "wrinkled old guy" :b

for example I'm older now than I was when I wrote my previous comment

< report >There is no danger in getting old. The important part is the mind. I saw a Japanese guy on TV who were around 80 and he was still active with the ladies doing.... ecchi. He also went to work every day. Saw another Japanese guy (at another time) and he worked every day climbing lampposts to replace broken lights. He was 100. It's not like getting older is a pain. Specially not since you get more experienced, which in a sense makes a whole lot of stuff way more interesting.

Besides this is a 5 year birthday and you guys talk about dying from old age. Isn't that a bit too soon?

so you would rather die right now than get older?
I'm sure you can get banned if you ask nicely (or maybe it should be not nicely at all) and you will seem dead to the rest of us :PLast modified on 2012-10-01 at 20:10

Try hitting 30 and you will realise how wrong that statement is :P
(somehow your statements makes you sound like you are between 10 and 15)

Yes the Japanese tend of have a lot of old people, but it's not just in Japan. A some years ago some guy turned 100 in the UK and he didn't have time to meet the queen (or was it the queen mother?). After all he had to take care of his job just like any other day.Last modified on 2012-10-01 at 20:23

< report >Congratulations! ヽ(´▽`)/

Time sure flies fast... But I guess it's not a bad thing when you know more great times might come, especially with VNDB and all of you around :)

@24 By all means - please! I surely would like to finally see a cute mascot around here. You actually have quite a lot possibilities to make it happen - either make a request and ask someone to design the character and prepare the art, start a FFA contest, or... if you'd like to do it really good (and have some coin at hand), there's always a posibility to hire a proffesional artist (not a bad idea either, if you consider a site of this magnitude). This sounds tempting for me as well, but I doubt I'll be able to actually sit to that with my busy schedule for now :(

By the way, I'm almost 26 - is it dangerous? ;)

-Finally, the most important one: FAQ-tan clutching her ruler on the verge of tears. This is important since this is the one that we would throw at recommendation-thread makers and the like while screaming "YOU MADE FAQ-TAN CRY!!!". It'll be fun. :D
you sir are an evil genius.

@Hiromin: If you are up to the task (and have the art-chops for it), then be my guest. :P

So I tried to sketch it.

I would like to know if there is any mistakes or something to be changed before doing the lineart and colouring. I will try to fix everything (or even remake the character).
Or just let me know if my style is not good enough.Last modified on 2012-10-02 at 01:13

The T-ruler seems too small to me. Last one I used was a bit less than a metre long.

While I would have preferred a high-school age girl to a loli...-shrug- you're tha artist, and it does look well-drawn.Last modified on 2012-10-02 at 03:43

< report >#41 I like the concept. Maybe a little less moe and have you thought of a name? Are we still going with FAQ-tan?

# 43 an a T-rules I guess.

< report >@41

I like it. MOE!!!!!

@shep It seems fairly normal to me. I mean, obviously compared to a normal human it's "deformed" but it's more of a chibi style ( link ).

Whether it's moe or not, idc. I still think it looks good.

a mascot should take its identity from the community it represents, no?
