< report >I like how my only options are 'every girl must 100% be a virgin forever!' or fuck off. I like virgin girls. I think it's cute that a childhood friend or little sister gives her virginity to the boy she loves. But requiring every single heroine to be a virgin is just stupid. Let's face it, these people are the same people and they bully real actresses with death threats for admitting they have a sex life. These are the same guys who broke their copies of their game disks and posted them on social media because a girl admitted she liked a boy in a bad ending. These are the same people who threaten authors with death threats when a comic heroine held a boy's hand while walking home from school. All in an effort to pressure authors, editors and writers to never ever suggest any girl has ever had a relationship before or suffer their wrath. These are the guys who bullied the staff of iDOLM@STER for the ungodly sin of putting male idols in one of their games.

The last time I knew a girl in a mainstream anime who had a sex life was Panty in 2010. These people should never, EVER be encouraged. They have gone beyond too far and we should do what we can to make sure they go away and stay gone. Liking virgins is fine, doing this stupid shit is not. This tag is stupid and just feeds their obsession.

< report >You literally have thousands of VNs that target you that you can happily slurp up, and instead you're crying about a trait that doesn't affect you, since you should know by now vndb has no impact on what's created in the first place. Take your vendetta to reddit or something, no one cares about how you feel.

< report >These kinds of arguments/rants don't seem to be very relevant to the topic of traits. Especially so to a thread that's used to address additions/changes/deletions of traits for over a decade at this point. The morality or personal beliefs about what should and shouldn't be the case in VNs or people's tastes of VNs should not be relevant to what goes into traits. It should be solely about what occurs in VN characters and how the traits should be organized. Unless there is a real reason to edit/remove a trait, I don't see how any of what was posted is relevant. Why not make a different thread to argue about how you feel about the purity of heroines and protagonists in VNs? The decade long traits thread doesn't seem to be the best place for it.

< report >I'm arguing for the trait to be deleted because it's stupid, redundant, and feeds into a broken system that needs to die.

< report >SomeDude gave a perfectly reasonable response to what you said. There are people who have use for such a trait, and removing it would make it harder for those people to be able to search for VNs with their preferred type of love interest and which ones they want to avoid. Your arguments for removal are solely because it offends you. You may have these views, but others have different views. Your views do not trump anybody else's because you are currently angry. Further, this is a database. A database should strive to store relevant information for its users, even if it offends others. I can assure you that there are WAY more fucked up things in VNs that need to be catalogued in this site (just look at some of the more degenerate sexual traits). But that doesn't mean they should be deleted because I find it offensive.Last modified on 2023-01-12 at 04:33

< report >Itome (糸目) should be added as an alias for kitsuneme (link), maybe even turned into the primary name of the tag, since it looks like this term is more commonly used for the "eyes always closed" trope than "kitsuneme" in Japan, and it also seems to align better with the description of the trait on vndb and the list of characters under it.

Basically, the impression I got from looking at pixiv encyclopedia, niconico pedia, google images, tags on novelgame, etc. is that "itome" is the more popular term and it's an umbrella term that describes eyes of all shapes that are closed all or most of the time. "Kitsuneme" on the other hand appears to be less popular (I couldn't find an entry for it on niconico pedia, and the article on pixiv-pedia was more of a stub than the article about itome. Results on google images were mostly pictures of real foxes, also girls with cat eye eyeliner, some people and characters with natural narrow, slanted eyes (open), but there was few pics of anime/manga characters with closed eyes) and it also describes eyes that are narrow and slanted, which may or may not be perma-closed.

Look at the pictures and characters listed here:
now compare with this:

The very first result I got when I googled 糸目 (itome) was this pic that showcases various types of itome:
In general, tons of manga/anime characters with many types of "eyes always shut" popped up, many comparison pics as well.
See this:
Or this:

In the description of the vndb trait, the emphasis seems to be on the "eyes closed" part rather than "narrow and slanted", and characters tagged with the trait appear to have eyes of all shapes and sizes (some look like closed tareme eyes, some look like hyphens), just like on google pics and in the "itome" articles linked above. So, if we care about how the terms are used in their country of origin, I think "itome" would be a better fit for the primary name of this trait.

< report >Clothes > Leg Warmers shouldn't be under Clothes > Footwear just based on the first sentence of its description.
Leg warmers are coverings for the lower legs, similar to socks but thicker and generally footless.

No. This is not reasonable because it's already covered by other tags and traits such as Infidelity Married Heroine and Promiscuous Heroine So defend yourself. Explain a situation where sex with protagonist only is necessary and another tag or trait cannot work in that scenario then name 5 examples.

< report >Please. don't restart this stupid discussion, or go discuss it in private with whoever you want. Don't pollute the "Traits" thread with something irrelevant. And yes, this discussion is irrelevant, because these traits are necessary to describe the whole berth of content, and it is important to know if certain acts are committed by the protagonist or by someone else.
