I've now fixed it so that they are hidden by default when there's more than 3 unofficial relations. This cleans up Doki Doki Literature Club! as well. |
#2977 by Ileca 2022-12-05 at 12:52 | < report >Thanks for accepting the tag at the same time so I don't have to wait a month. ;) Can we agree that if a tag exists, official games should be spared from that kind of relation? Like you have 12 unofficial fangames linked to Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku when there is the tag Suzumiya Haruhi. It's redundant and by that logic I can dunk all fangames from From Other Media on every official game from the same universe I find. I hope Touhou doesn't have one. |
#2978 by Yorhel 2022-12-05 at 13:04 | < report >You're welcome. :) (No, I haven't a clue what beliar's policy is on universe tags :P) Can we agree that if a tag exists, official games should be spared from that kind of relation? I'm fine with this, for now. I honestly want a complete revamp of the relations feature, but that's not going to happen in the short term. |
#2979 by Draconyan 2022-12-05 at 18:39 | < report >I only found one example so it might not be worth bothering, but in Lolita Syndrome there's only solo nudity, so neither Straight Lolicon nor Lesbian Lolicon apply; however Lolicon definitely does. If the tag wasn't added to the game before it was made not applicable, I would've been forced to either use the Straight tag, which technically doesn't apply since there's no sex acts and the protagonist's gender is ambiguous, or to not add anything, which would lead to missing information.Last modified on 2022-12-05 at 18:39 |

Prostitute Training Simulator should be a child tag of Sex Involving Prostitution and Heroine Having Sex with Others. Netorase should not be a child tag of Sex with Others as it does not necessarily imply it. See, for example, Jimime na Jijo-san no Oshigoto Sex ~Ojou-sama ni Kawatte Oaite Shimasu~. |
#2984 by mondblut 2022-12-22 at 03:13 | < report >Correction suggestion for the Lolicon, Lolicon Hero, Lolicon Heroine, Lolicon and Straight Lolicon tag. In the description you specify: "In Japan, lolicon describes an attraction to underage girls (whether prepubescent, pubescent, or post-pubescent)." In the Lolicon Protagonist tag you even specify the protagonist as pedophile. (Please correct that as well, the closest term for pedophile in Japanese is 小児性愛者 and not ロリコン) Either way, the descriptions for these tags are simply put incorrect as a loli can, but does not have to be underage. In fact there are many lolis in media who are anything but underage. Used outside of anime media it refers to young looking women/girls like 年下/妹/童顔-type girls. In real life for example a 23-yo male dating an 18-yo girl may be called a ロリコン by his friends, and adult idol fans are occasionally accused of being ロリコン. In the Loli Heroine tag you even specify: "Her age matters not one bit when it comes to her classification as a loli. This is only about appearance." So why is being underage a mandatory feature in the other loli tags? Either way, underage is not the necessary factor. So I suggest rewriting the description for the before mentioned tags.Last modified on 2022-12-22 at 03:42 |

Are you trying to filter out romantic comedies or romances that aren't taken seriously? #2987 by qpo 2023-01-01 at 21:02 | < report >Multiple kinds of adventure game elements are used in VNs under Interactive Adventure Game, so I suggest we add a few child tags for it: 1) Text Parser - And have "コマンド入力式ADV" as an alias, which is the Japanese name of the "parser-based interactive fiction" genre. 2) コマンド選択式ADV - Players choose their actions from a "look/examine/talk to"-style interface. I don't know how to name the genre in English. Example: - Ancient: Portopia Renzoku Satsujin Jiken (Famicom and later versions), Jesus - Modern: Ise Shima Mystery Annai Itsuwari no Kuroshinju, Binary Syndrome, Retro Game Aliens (Its English description translates the genre as "click-and-choose adventure game", but in fact "click" is not necessary for the genre, directional key/buttons or number keys can be used in some games.) 3) Point and Click Adventure - Which is currently an alias of Interactive Adventure Game. Text to Speech Voices should be a child tag of AI-generated Assets. (AI-generated Assets might need to be renamed into "Machine-generated Assets" if we make the change.) |

#2993 by Ezezin 2023-01-20 at 22:26 | < report >The tag No Opening Movie is useless. Nowadays, it's so easy to create a VN that even a AI can make it, and with the rise of western visual novels and Japanese doujin circles, there are way to many entries to make the tag useful... or even try to tag all of them. I mean, I keep tagging indie games with it, but there are way to many of them which made me think on the intended purpose of this tag. Was it to find visual novels with high production values but without openings? Because, indie games can't benefit from this tag at all. |
#2994 by Ileca 2023-01-20 at 23:12 | < report >Making opening movies or any kind of movies work in Linux is a massive pain in the ass. They are skipped so you don't even know if there are movies in the first place. I could see the tag being replaced by a "contains video". Would be super useful in general for Linux users. As for the tag's existence, it's probably as simple as any of the other "missing feature x" tags, to mark cheap VN instead of high production ones.Last modified on 2023-01-20 at 23:23 |

I've read what you said in t3617.2971 but, what would be the difference between that tag and, let's say Romance + Parody or Romance + Anthropomorphized Inanimate Object? You just have to look at the combinations you said. link You see that the Harry Potter parody is legit and not ironic. You have stuff like Hentai Prison or AMBITIOUS MISSION, don't ask me why. link Same, it's not because you have some weird object that it fits. Could simply be a character not involved in the romance. Even by adding comedy, you have plenty of stuff that doesn't fit. And what if it fits but you want to use the tag to filter out? You can't have comedy, romance, and parody anymore? It's not about filtering out "romantic comedies or romances that aren't taken seriously". I think Smee's game are romantic comedies and they wouldn't be filtered out because they wouldn't fit the tag as the characters are not ironic crap for the sake of the lulz. lol look at the latest garbage that came out > Blind Dirting... |
