< report >Well, this VN is quite new, so i want to ask for a comment from anybody who has played this VN. I hope the story is a nice one, because it has some point in the scoreboard.Last modified on 2013-01-11 at 20:46

< report >This VN is the best of last years' releases and I definitely recommend it. The story is very relaxing and almost all the heroines are great(except Ageha IMO but I don't like osananajimi storylines). Don't expect an exciting action-packed adventure but a laid-back story with minimal drama, great for winding down after a stressful day. The ero-stuff in this game is done very tastefully I have to add. The feeling I got was koichoco but better. (Next to a great atmosphere they also share an unlikeable osananajimi)

< report >I liked Harumade, Kururu myself... I'm not fond of this game, but I do admit that it is well-written. My dislike is mostly a matter of my tastes in games. If you like 'seishun' drama and the like, you'll probably enjoy this game.

< report >Yes, it's well worth it. Beautiful art and music, nice story. I play it very slowly to enjoy it a little more than I usually do.

< report >this game would be worth playing! i choose the best games for playing and this one is amazing (but still, it might be a matter of taste)! 2 routes are great, 3 are maybe kinda boring sometimes.

< report >If you're still listening, yes this is a fantastic VN! I see that you loved Hoshimemo, so basically, think of this as Hoshimemo, but much better in every way. I only finished Kotori and Amane so far, but I already love it. It's super cheap too, at only $30.

< report >Umm, how exactly you could think of konosora as hoshimemo?
They are games from entirely different genres, with different art/writing/story styles.

< report >Okay, let us be fair and go down the checklist:
-Both are high-school romantic charages
-Both are centered around a unique club that is struggling to stay afloat
Vs
-They have very different writing (Hoshimemo is much more fast-paced and comedy-centered while konosora is more about slow dramedy and lots of infodumps)
-One is fantasy while the other is not
-Very different art style, with the only thing linking them being the chibi comedy art
-One has a decent translation while the other is garbage without the unofficial patch

In other words, the only thing really linking them is the setting and the broad-stroke genre, while they are pretty different in every other aspect. No cigar.

< report >"Protag is transfer student in Japanese town and there's some weird club he joins" is premise of every second anime/manga/vn, its just cheap default way to establish characters w/out spending too much effort on setting, I don't think it really counts as similarity.

I mean, Itsusora fits the bill too: transfer student, weird club, romance. Now, I'd like to see even single person who would argue that its anything like either hoshimemo or konosora.Last modified on 2014-09-10 at 09:57

< report >KonoSora has little in common with HoshiMemo. However, they are both similarly good in their respective sub-genres (realistic, slice-of-life/drama oriented charage vs fantasy, comedy/drama-oriented charage respectively), though from what I have seen KonoSora has better writing and generally higher production values. Maybe that's what #8 wanted to say?
That's only true for the Japanese version though, MoeNovel's crap is absolutely unreadable, I'd rank it way below Shuffle and it's not worth even 1$. :P

< report >I just finished pushing myself through it. took a "long" time, but I would say it is a excellent story. But marred by the shit translation.

Still, I admit I'm glad I put up with it... there was alot of long, boring, technical stuff - but some of the routes really hit home.Last modified on 2015-03-31 at 06:06

< report >Fan translation is pretty awful too, especially the H-scenes. Still, can't complain since it was still very much readable and still a great VN.

< report >Stealing a commercial translation and adding some sex scenes is now enough to call something a "fan translation", huh?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I'm informed even with the patch you still read 99% Moenovel translation? I think #14 is pretty hypocritical here.

< report >Yes, you are wrong. I can't be arsed to look up numbers, but h-scenes alone which were translated from scratch (due not existing in MN version) make up almost 1/4 of total lines. Plus add up stuff that was retranslated due to be too horrible originally, and you could easily have around of 50% new translation. And remaining 50% underwent editing, so there's pretty much 0% of original MN lines.

The only kind of comment you usually read about this game is how horrible it is translated/edited, even with the patch. How is this even possible if everything is retranslated/edited?

< report >The heavily retranslated/edited fan patch is not yet released. The restoration patch that was released does have some light editing in some segments, but there's a lot of the MoeNovel horribleness still in there. Pabloc and Dragoon and the others on that team are still hard at work retranslating the rest of the game. If you're disappointed with the state the script is in even post-restoration patch, just wait because the proper retranslation is coming.

< report >I was talking about original patch tho. I don't want to argue about quality and so on, but lines _were_ changed, for better or worse.

When it comes to MoeNovel text, restoration patch offers only a few, purely cosmetic edits, nothing else. Ageha's route had more tweaks, around the censored/rewritten content, but it's still garbage. In terms of overall TL-quality, there's only a negligible difference between original patch and MoeNovel's trainwreck (probably not even noticeable outside of Ageha's route). And H-scenes have rather hasty translations, too. Some of them were no better than MN, and that's quite an achievement...
So yeah, I'm not sure if we should be labelling the original patch as a "fan-translation". It restores H-scenes and fixes some minor things, but almost 75% of the text is still raw MoeNovel.

Otherwise, I wouldn't have to re-translate absolutely everything from scratch... -.-'Last modified on 2015-08-27 at 14:07

< report >Since this came up anyway: is your full patch for the MoeNovel version or the original Japanese one? I'm guessing MoeNovel's, but seeing that you are essentially doing a full fan-tl I'm not sure.Last modified on 2015-08-27 at 14:20

< report >Partial patch will be only for the JP-version, since it's easier to distribute, but the full patch is planned for both JP and MN versions (not for Steam).
>IF< it will be created, that is. After re-translating twins's routes, where the TL was absolutely horrendous, I don't have a lot of motivation left. Or rather, I have motivation to do some other stuff... :P
