Can't search for unknown platform or media

< report >There are lots of releases with no platform or media specified but it's impossible to do a search for them to easily find and fix them. You can search for unknown age rating/resolution/voicing/etc., so why not unknown platform/media?

< report >Fixed, you can now search for unknown platform and media, too.
The reason was that a release can have multiple platforms and media, so the filtering question isn't "I want a release for which one of its platforms is x", but "I want a release for which there are no platforms specified at all". This requires some special care in the code. For the other filters, "unknown" is really just a special value: "I want a release where the age rating is unknown" is internally just a very minor modification of "I want a release where the age rating is 18+", so those didn't need much care.Last modified on 2013-01-21 at 12:47

< report >Thanks.
Although if I check both Unknown and Other platforms, it brings up releases with all platforms.
Speaking of platforms, I was wondering if you might want to add more platform options for some older platforms. For example:

Are you sure you're not selecting all of them (Unknown and other being at opposite ends of the selection list). If I only select both of them, I get the results I'd expect: releases which have no platform associated, and releases that have an entry for "other".
Judging by the number of releases you've found for those platforms, I'll add those to the list when I have the time.

< report >I just tried it again and it is working fine. I don't know what the deal was. Maybe I did select them all... Never mind.

< report >While we are at the topic of searching. Is there a way to filter characters who are in a VN without an english translation?

< report >Currently there isn't even a way to search for VNs without English translations, let alone searching for characters that belong to them.
This is the sort of situation that I feel being able to perform custom SQL queries would be helpful.
I mean, from a database perspective, all the data is there to do so, but I don't think the web interface currently allows that sort of search operation.
