Translation Patch Problems(?)

I have the patch applied. But some of the images aren't translated.
The CGs (like ones the text on the computer) are translated, but the "Save Data" status and "this work is a work of fiction etc" are not.

My locale is set to Japanese, and I have tried the installation a couple times.

... Are you serious? I mean, you seriously don't know, do you? Sheesh... Sorry, I thought this is common knowledge...

Okay, listen. The patch, the last unofficial pach, is still incomplete. The translation project was closed down before competition because of licensing and whatever. Regardless of that, the game is still perfectly playable, and 99% translated. So please don't start nitpicking on these little details, and just enjoy the story. :PLast modified on 2010-01-25 at 01:09

That's got to be the funniest response.
I'm sorry I couldn't find that out without asking.Last modified on 2010-01-28 at 01:20

That's funny. I didn't know that "unofficial patch" was missing any images. Since all of the games images were translated and edited.

Some of the images were not visible on the TLWiki page at the time it went all "Support Jast" on us. I guess whomever cooked that patch missed to notice this and grab them form the other location...

They weren't together with the rest because one project member emptied their slots saying that he'll do better ones, which to my knowledge, he never did.

I just checked these images again before posting this. I didn't know all the people who played with the "unofficial patch" did so without those.

Well, whatever, the patch I played the game with was also missing a few translated CGs, but I never complained.:P

And I don't understand why you keep saying "unofficial patch" in quotation marks? As far as I know, it was canceled so the patch that can be downloaded from rapidshare is not the final, aka the official patch. And if I knew wrong, just correct me. :P

P.S. Yeah, I guess my initial answer was a little rude, but again, I thought the mess with the patch was common knowledge...Last modified on 2010-01-28 at 14:52

I'd recommend waiting on JAST USA's release, since one could "Support JAST USA's official localizations of 5pb games" this way.

That project has never been completed, the group that made it has never released the final completed patch. Thus any patch that you'll find are either beta releases made during the project was active, or unofficial ones that some "shady people" cooked afterwards.

As opposed to the totally official and non-shady people making an unauthorized translation in the first place. Just sayin'.

Most unauthorized translations are usually of better quality and are of games that don't have a chance to ever be licensed. Just sayin'Last modified on 2010-01-30 at 01:49

I was going to do a question about this, but looks like you already did it

after reading the answers: so... Chaos;Head final patch (100% translated and without bugs) is never going to be released? T.T waah...

You didn't read carefully enough. Let me sum up:

The patch can be found on the net with google. It was cooked up by "shady guys". It has complete and not so complete versions. All of them translates the game, but some of them leaves a few CGs untranslated. Aside of that, the game is perfectly playable with them, all text translated and bug free (at least mine was that... :P). However, there is no 100% patch, because the translators went "Support JAST USA" (aka crazy in my opinion), and they removed their beta patch so JAST USA can make their own and sell us for big buck. With other words: You can either play the game now with the shady patches free, or wait for JAST USA to release an official translation.

I guess that's all.Last modified on 2010-02-07 at 18:11

Well, technically, you are suppose to be importing the game from Japan when you use them patches

You say the truth there makenshi. Let me rephrase: The patch is FREE, the game is NOT, unless you break the law. But who would do something like that...? ;)

I ran into the same problem.

If you're using the RC2 patch (I think), I believe that installer is bugged. The translated cgs are extracted on \cg\cg instead of \cg.

Go to the cg folder and see if there's another cg folder within it. If there is, move the contents of \cg\cg to \cg. That should fix the problem.

Just tried it and this trick seems to work. (Of course I played through the entire game without really worrying about a few untranslated cgs)

No one who posts on VNDB would ever do something like that.Last modified on 2010-02-08 at 13:55

I've got a question.
What's the difference between RC1 and RC2 translation patches? I guess that both translate the game in 100%, so what? Grammar, typos, etc?

EDIT
Nevermind, I've already found what I was looking for...

EDIT2
...though the game still won't work... after I ran the game I was unable to either: close it, change any options or start (not clickable or after clicking nothing's happening)Last modified on 2010-03-14 at 15:51

Yes, the CG installation of the RC1 patch (the last one released by the translators) is f***ed up. Like what he said, just manually move the contents of the \cg\cg folder to \cg.

AFAIK, the script and CGs are all translated, except some of the Tips.

RC2 is a cleaned up and simpler installer made by some guy in Hongfire.Last modified on 2010-04-03 at 09:29

Hi.
Here's my problem: some text of the route B was untraslated; is it a problem of my patch or is it the same for all of you?
I had to skipped the whole game for about two hours, to see that damned route, so it left me a bit disappointed.

Help an italian guy, please.

All the text for me was translated, and yes, I have completed B route. I used the original RC1 patch (that was on tlwiki, before being taken down) without any updates by the community.

Yeah, as I thought. I guess is the same with all the untranslated text that I saw during the game - because it's happened many times, B route aside.

Well, at least I can see it on YouTube.
Thank you for the info.

Which patch did you use? I'm the same as beliar, and I didn't experience any untranslated patch when I played it

Can I link it?
I used this:
link
It's the antifail patch...

Besides some text, some delusion was utterly untranslated, too. The game was joyable anyway, but it would have been better without these defects.Last modified on 2011-04-05 at 21:22

Sorry for super-necroing but i have a problem with this patch, the game crashes after Takumi explains about "gaze" (after the OP Sequences). Deleting Savedata does not work, how to fix this? Can updating your game fixes the problem?
