I just skimmed the thread for this and saw that they (initially atleast?) accepted machine translations and that some of their real translators use machine translation to "check their translation" (which hardly inspires confidence in their abilities). All of this understandably doesn't really give me the best impression regarding this project, so i just wondered if anybody (preferably who know some japanese) has tried the partial patch and care to comment on this? i.e is this actually a usable translation or the train-wreck the first page of the thread makes it out to be?

Someone checked some of the lines a bit ago when it was released, and yeah, they were quite wrong.

It is active, there's another partial patch planned to be released very soon, containing about 1/3 of TDA00 plus full RD and CD.

The translation is functional but doesn't seem to have been written ny a native English speaker, it lacks the idioms you would only know from spending extensive amounts of time in the anglosphere. The problem is compounded by having the entire cast be native Westerners, which makes their stilted dialogue rather glaring instead of being excusable as a cute character quirk. But if poor prose really bothered you then you wouldn't by on this site, or at least not asking about translations, so you'll probably still enjoy reading it.Last modified on 2014-06-17 at 14:37
