< report >Ok but what were the exact soundfonts you used before switching to this sound card (your previous advice is too vague)? Once I have them I could record how Madoll sounds for you to tell me if it's how it is supposed to sound like or not. I will do the same for Wanderers (I used the chibi oto option btw though it doesn't change anything).

< report >Yeah I guess that was a bit vague. I usually used one of those two SC-55 soundfounts I linked. link (the other link seems to be dead, but I think this is the better of the two). Let me know if you want any more info. (Also I'd like to ask you about something completely unrelated to PC-98, elsewhere of course)

< report >Here are two samples from Wanderers. One from the menu, and one from the beginning of the game, after the intro. It probably is me, as trying to set up this midi crap really made me insecure about my hearing...

I included the Madoll's opening (オープニング) music recorded from the music library. This is definitely not right, especially at 0:19. I am using your Roland SC-55 soundfont.

(Also I'd like to ask you about something completely unrelated to PC-98, elsewhere of course)
You know how to contact me on reddit and if you need to chat, I can give you there my handle on discord, you just have to ask.Last modified on 2020-10-03 at 01:59

< report >How am I supposed to play PC-98 games if the files are in .hdm format? Anex doesn't seem to support it.

< report >Ok, so when I tried to play the converted roms, I just get errors. What's going on?

EDIT: NVM, fixed it on my own.Last modified on 2021-06-21 at 17:39

< report >Ok, there's another problem. Shizuku has like, 5 discs. Anex can only support 2 at best.

So how the fuck does Neko Project work? It looks really complicated and my IQ is low. Can someone explain it?

Lol, you're damn right, it is low, if you are planning to insert all 5 simultaneously. Kakyuusei has 17 floppies, for comparison, one of later Viper games has 40. PC98 emulators support only two because you were able to insert only 2 on real hardware. Use HDI or change floppies when the game asks you to. PC98 emulators are much, much easier to use than Amiga, Atari ST and (especially) old Mac emulators.

Also, Anex supports .hdm, just choose "All files" while inserting, insert .hdm discs and launch the game. Although Anex is quite outdated and recommended to use only in case text hooker gives you too much garbage characters (in some Alice Soft and D.O. games). Use NP2 in all other cases instead.Last modified on 2021-06-22 at 23:11
