I've been having the same problem actually, you can hear the audio and voices but theres no text right? From what I've heard around some say that its something to do with the unicode but even after changing it to japanese I still can't see any text. I'd bee really greatful if someone could help us out here.

If you changed the install directory from the patch's default you'll need to change the path in the SR.reg file and double click on it. Older versions of the patch had this in the readme but the most recent installer doesn't seem to.

If you still got no text then find it in your registry via regedit and add it manually by making new entries.

I think the latest installer solves the problem. You don't need to use applocale or change to Japanese locale if you use it.

Go regedit, search on Kogado and see whether it's properly added. if you don't see any values there, then you have to add it manually.

What should I input in the value? Or rather, what should I be doing next?(Sorry total noob)

oh sorry not kogado but Borland.

Then right click, "New String Value"

After that, edit the string you made. The Value Name should be the path to SR_qc.exe, and the value data should be MOO.
Also you should have the font called Essai.ttf in your gamefolder + it might be wise tol add it to your windows font folder.

For the Essai.ttf, I can't seem to see it in my game folder, what does it do?

It's the font the game uses.

I tried everything in this thread and it still won't display any text for me. The regedit route matches the path to SR_qc.exe exactly, dashes and all.

My locale and everything is all set to Japanese, and the game has installed just fine.

Am I a hopeless case or what?

Disregard my last post.

I had the SR_qc folder seperate from my game folder.

If you're still running into any troubles, try setting the Date Format of your computer to Japan's.

Sorry in advance for asking what is probably a really stupid question but I have a problem with the English translation patch.

My problem is that I can only see what I guess is the original Japanese text (although the menu is translated) and I cannot bring my computer to display the translations.

Has anyone any suggestions?

Make sure the patch was correctly applied.

Sounds to me like there was some files which weren't replaced with the translated files.

@20. if you have windows 7, when you save the file, instead of "C://program files (x86)" save it under "C://program file" and don't change anything. (like leave the files as Kogado --> SRTE and then the game)

I had problems with it too and that's what it did for me. hopefully it helps

Hello there, i got the same problem that the menu's are english but there is just no text and tried a few solutions like diffrent install paths and the setting the whole PC in japanese but nothing worked.
I noticed there was a registry hack here but thing is, i dont have either Borlands or kogado in my regedit.
i use a windows 7 64bit if that is any help

that's weird. Try reinstalling the game and doing the same procedure as the regedit, by installing the game your system locale should be set to japanese.

Nope, tried and still nothing in my registry.
Applied the patch and set everything to japanese.
When i opened the japanese version i got all menus and stuff in english with japanese working text (atleast i think so)
When i oepened the english verision all the menu's and stuff were english but once again, no text.
