I finally caved in and decided to play this game. I wanted to wait for the remake but then I thought; what if I died tomorrow or next week without ever playing this game.
So my question......answer it, Satsuki or Arcueid last?

So my question......answer it, Satsuki or Arcueid last?lol. This game is most famous for NOT having a "Satsuki route"XD

Your concern is correct, it would be really terrible to die without reading Tsukihime.
Your question is however a bit incorrect, because 1) like arkady said, there is no satsuki route, it should be added to remake ... if its going to be released one day and 2) you can't play my-moon-and-stars-Arcueid last, 'cause there is semi-order in routes (meaning that some routes you have to play before others).

Wasn't Arc > Ciel > Akiha > Hisui > Kohaku the Enforced Playing Order?
At least that's how I went both times I played this.
Also lol don't wait for the Tsukihime remake

Wasn't Arc > Ciel > Akiha > Hisui > Kohaku the Enforced Playing Order? That's the order I followed back in the days, but if I do remember well you have to read Arc or Ciel (Near Side of the Moon) to unlock the Far Side of the Moon. So you can read Arc last (I don't know if you should, though), but I don't know if you can read Kohaku before Arc.Last modified on 2014-11-07 at 18:02

#5 Would I mess up my experience if I did? I like to read "best girl" last for VNs which is why I asked this question.

You literally cannot do that, without messing with the saved games. And there's quite some background info iirc that isn't explained in the Far Side routes, since the VN takes it granted that you've already read the Near Side routes. I wouldn't mess with it, just do it the way it should be done.

#5 Would I mess up my experience if I did? I like to read "best girl" last for VNs which is why I asked this question.Dunno. I didn't try other orders than the "standard" one. And nearly no one thinks she is the best girl, if I'm not wrong (most people prefer Hisui, for instance).
Anyways, you *might* not understand something in the Far Side routes, as Warfoki said.

But I don't care what anyone thinks, best girl IS best girl......Whatever I'll just read it the way you all stated, thanks.

Well, I always find this trying best-for-last weird, I think VNs are meant to be played (at least first playthrough) how you feel is best direction, otherwise that decision making have no meaning.. but whatever, there are other threads on that.
I wonder where arkady got impression like that about Arc, I would claim otherwise, not only because I consider her best heroine (in tsukihime as well as in whole VN medium and by far) but from amount of fan attention

Arc first.
Arc -> Ciel -> Akiha -> Hisui -> Kohaku is the accepted recommended playing order.
Arc and Ciel make up the near side routes and Akiha, Hisui and Kohaku make up the far side routes. Generally the far side routes are considered much more enjoyable than the near side ones.
You need to read at least one near side route (Arc or Ciel) to unlock the far side routes (Akiha, Hisui, Kohaku) and Hisui's route needs to be read to unlock Kohaku's. Other than that there is no enforced playing order.Last modified on 2014-11-08 at 10:13

Arcueid is definitely the most popular girl in Tsukihime overall. Her fans just generally aren't as vocal, since they're not a small minority.
But yeah, you should definitely do her route first.
