|I've been thinking about this for a while, but I feel that the translation here is a little loose so I may not be getting the entire point.|
Anyway, I am wondering what exactly happened between Tsukasa and Jun when he tried to "re-establish" the contract with Jun on the rooftop in the highschool flashback sequence. I wish there was an easy way for me to get back to those scenes to read them again.
My take away is that Jun was in love with him, but somehow Tsukasa didn't/couldn't understand her feelings and that she was using the money as a cover to try and keep herself from getting too attached.
If this is the case, then this makes Jun's arc in the story particularly tragic because it's obvious from reading further into it that she both doesn't feel worthy of being loved for the things that she has done (she calls herself basically "vile"?) but she's also still in love with Tsukasa and wants to be with him even if she doesn't think she can be.
I also noticed that Jun never refuses to help Tsukasa ever, even when she asks him to "pay" for stuff she's really easy about it, either charging almost nothing, or letting him pay "later". It just seems like a convenient fiction for her to try and keep her relationship with him at a distance.
Does anyone else have any opinions on this?
Personally I think I like Jun's arc the best (but mostly because of the flashback sequences making the present scenes very bittersweet), but I hated her ending so I have to put it behind Aoba's and Chunhua's. If her ending was as good as Matsuri's in terms of detail and development of relationship with Tsukasa, then she would have stolen the show I think.Last modified on 2014-12-23 at 05:54
