< report >Dreams really do come true. Now I can get to adding all those seiyuus for the handful of nukige I keep track of.

Also seems a bit buggy when I tried to add a note to one CV credit. It removed another CV off the staff list completely, and now I can't even add it back for some reason. I think I'll wait till things are hammered down to bother editing things.Last modified on 2015-01-22 at 02:08

< report >It was a pretty simple bug actually, if there were more than 10 unique staff/cast entires to a VN, some would get removed on edit. Just took me some time to figure that out, I must have been sleepy.

Anyway, my current plan is to make some small changes to the guidelines, test the database conversion and then merge the staff database into the live site. Only a limited number of people will get staff edit rights initially, so there's time to flesh out the bugs and guidelines after it's live. As usual, I don't have an ETA, but I don't want to postpone this much longer.

< report >In anidb the credits are checked against a list of known credit types. And if the credit is not known you cant add the staff. You have to request an addition of the credit via forum best with a screenshot. (Alone in the last month 17 unknown credits were spotted. Those japanese guys like to invent new credits.)

< report >^Yeah, especially if you do a quick search and compare for example Kaori Mizuhashi's aliases compared to the ones listed in AniDB... Just counted and she has like over 50 aliases/pseudonyms, while AniDB has only listed two of those. Pretty crazy and lazy, if I were to say...

< report >@106 so... what's your point, exactly? here's not anidb, just sayin'. first of all, they have db edits premoderation (aka creq system) and a shitload of mods to handle it, so their practices not really applicable to vndb.

@107 they list only aliases that were used in anime credits. and vndb willl list only those used in VNs. d16#3 says, specifically "Add only aliases that are actually used in VN credits."Last modified on 2015-01-27 at 20:12

< report >regards to those guidelines, are we going with space or no space between first and last name?
Having a space in-between would mess up the search results right?

< report >@109 that's what I thought as well... I've been removing spaces from character entries because I thought they weren't supposed to be there. Hope that wasn't pointless of me =/

< report >we took care of it, search now works just fine with spaces in japanese names, so we reverted back to the original "put space if possible" guideline (the misleading line in the staff add form will be removed).

< report >@111 Is that implemented in the database now, or will it be added when the staff database is made live? Because right now, if a character name has a space, searching for the character without a space will return no results, so it's not working.Last modified on 2015-01-28 at 10:03

< report >Guideline for characters remains unchanged, prefer the use of spaces if possible. We can fix the search for that, too, if necessary. Sorry for the confusion. >.>Last modified on 2015-01-28 at 10:57

< report >Please do fix the search for that. That's the only reason I had been removing spaces, because I realized they made it difficult to search character names.

Please also fix the search for producers to ignore spaces, if you can.

I'll fix the stuff I changed so far.Last modified on 2015-01-28 at 10:59

< report >Producers? Those are rarely real (looking) names, and we shouldn't randomly insert spaces there. :-/

< report >No, I mean so that if you search for, e.g., "Twin Turtle Games," TwinTurtle Games will still pop up, without you having to put "Twin Turtle" with a space as an alias.

< report >Something is wrong with History. I added Shi'iina Kou as Kagura Kaguya here, but it displays that I also edited Kagami Arisu as Kujira no Shoujo [PC], which is a lie. It hasn't changed a bit.

UPD: same tits. I only added 4 seiyuu, nothing else >_<Last modified on 2015-02-05 at 15:10

< report >This time I can't see two added seiyuu positions in History: link

I added:
------------
Kagami Arisu as Nagumo Sae
Kaibara Elena as Satosaki Mieko
Kawai Haruka as Araya Shiki
Kawai Haruka as Mana Shiki

Last two of them are not in the History for some reason.
