< report >I have no idea why the game crashes, but every time I attempt to start it, it crashes after opening the main menu. I have tried all possible things to get it working, but nothing works. I bought the game on disk in Japan. Is it a bug, is there a patch for it, or am I just being a retard?
I have checked the system specs, and everything seems fine, updated DirectX and everything.
Running on Windows 8.1

*Edit*
The game successfully starts, I can move around in menu and options, but the instant I move my mouse over any of the menues to the left, the game instantly crashes.

DISREGARD THAT, I SUCK COCKS

All you need to do is to change the clock on your computer to japanese format.Last modified on 2015-01-13 at 15:01

Using japanese locale makes perfect sense from a coding point of view (shift-jis char encoding uses 33% less memory than unicode and some tools doesn't work with unicode). However crashing due to clock format sounds like horrible coding to me and serves no practical purpose. However it's not a big issue now that the cause and a solution has been found.

< report >No idea why the clock settings would change anything.. Well, it works and that makes me happy. Hopefully some other peeps may see this and find an end to their struggle.

< report >Might've been a security thing.

But yeah, I remember having that problem (and not just with that game actually), and switching to japanese date format fixed it, since then I left it like that. It's the same to me and if it can prevent some crashes down the road, might as well keep it that way.Last modified on 2015-01-13 at 20:02

< report >8 years later, it's the year 2023. I bought the game, downloaded and installed it. I was looking foward to reading it. I started up the game, and once I wanted to click the "Start" button, it crashed. Man, was I disappointed. I tried many things, none worked.

Until!

Until I came across this thread started by someone who had the exact same issue and, thank goodness, found its solution.
I can confirm - changing the date/time format to Japanese actually made the game work.

Thank you so much for sharing this!Last modified on 2023-03-18 at 20:30
