Finished Kotori route.
The writer must be really high while writing her epilogue.

What's with that whole graduation thingy ? It is totally unnecessary.
Hazuki about to be graduated from kindergarten ? Who care. We are in the kotori route.
The sooooo meaningful graduation song ? The happy, unforgettable days they spent with everyone at school ? ~ lol, none of that happened in this VN.

It felt like I was reading the wrong epilogue (Hatsuyuki Sakura, was that you ?)Last modified on 2015-01-15 at 19:24

Here is my interpretation on Kotori's epilogue.
The whole graduation thing is there to show how much Kotori's attitude toward rune has changed. Before, as shown in her route, she believes that rune is the main source of her unhappiness. This leads to her half-hearted attitude toward everything in life. She never really fully enjoys anything in life. However after Rikku works the magic of love on her and she reunite with her parent, she starts to accept rune as well as herself as an elfin. That emotional graduation scene is the result of her serious efforts in school life which is only possible after she has come to terms with rune. In otherword, it means that one can archieve happiness (in this case is a 'normal' fullfiled school life) even with the existence of rune, it is possible for one to get along with rune. (This message, which is repeated implied in normal routes, plays an important factor in the true route)
Also, the reason why she is given such a long epilogue probably because out of all heroines, she is one that hate rune most at the beginning story. And about "the happy, unforgetable days they spent" that you said, I think the writer probably save them for the fandisk :)

Anyway, suprisingly Kotori's route is one of my favorite routes in game (besides true route) as I tend to dislike tsundere.Last modified on 2015-01-16 at 07:09

Ok. Finished all route. I had to really force myself to read the last few minutes of true route's epilogue.

Seriously, epilogues ruined this VN imo.

First, there is kotori. (but deepblue made some valid points so I will let it slide)

Then, Korona. Riku jumping/flying to the exosphere(or was it still in space ?) and breathing without apparatus!! Seriously ? Even if we say it is Riku potential as effin, it is still a far stretch.

And lastly, Yuuki's. I was enjoying her route.... until I see that epilogue.
Rikku about to die ? [wow~ a bitter sweet ending ? good.]
What!! Yuuki is taking his place ? [a nakige end with heroine death ? nice.]
She can't severe their bond and Rikku is still dying ? [go! go! MC. for your love!]
A wild sister appeared and she can save both ? [.......wait! what!]
Dafuq ~ it was just a dream ? [thought so, it can't be that convenient.]
Not a dream after all ? [...........come again ?]
happily ever after ? [.......w.h.a.t j.u.s.t h.a.p.p.e.n.e.d.?]

What's with the useless spiral and deus-ex-machina ? Couldn't they end it simply ? *sigh*

IroSekai >>>> Hoshimemo = AstralAir.

I just want to clarify that the scene with Riku's sister doesn't actually happen, it is just a dream after all (or to be more precise, a premonition imo). Riku and Yuuki alone can't possibly become together forever. By themselves, sooner and later they will meet their end yet they still keep trying to shouder everything alone. At the end of their journey, when everything seems to be hopeless and Riku is about to give up, that dream makes him realize that they are not alone. Everyone are trying the best to help them and that gives them a ray of hope to keep going forward. That's why he says to Yuuki that they will still continue their journey but sometime they will stop for everyone to catch up with them. In the end, it is still unclear whether that they can truly become happy after all.

Still, I do agree that they should keep Yuuki's epilogue simple and save these stuffs for the fandisk rather than rush things like this just to make the epilogue more complicated than neccessary.

About Korona's epilogue, yes, it's kind of ridiculous that Riku can gain the same amount of power that he has when he shares the bond with Yuuki just by training in just 1-2 years >.<.

Anyways, as you said, this game is no where near the level of IroSekai/Hikari(these games are just too good :x ) but it's still a decent read and I'm quite looking forward to its fandisk.Last modified on 2015-02-10 at 14:03

Just reread the final scene. Yes, my mistake. When Shiroha Yuki entered the scene for second time, I thought it was Rikku's premonition coming true. But it was just an extension of Rikku's dream.

I'm quite looking forward to its fandisk.
I need Hinata and Senkawa's route!!!

P.S : Was Hikari that good(in term of story) ? I disregarded it as a typical "more H, more lovey dovey" FD and didn't touch it.Last modified on 2015-02-10 at 14:17

My rating for Hikari might be a bit bias because of my love for Shinku but this game is definitely more than just a typical FD, frankly it feels more like a sequel to the first game. If you love IroSekai, than you should also read IroHikari, otherwise the series won't be complete.

btw, there is already a thread about Hikari, so you might want to check the comments there.Last modified on 2015-02-10 at 15:16

Hikari was *very* good if you like Shinku. The other heroines have mini-routes like you come to expect from fandiscs, however Shinku's route is a whole extension on the story, akin to a sequel rather than a fandisc.

I would seriously advise reading it.Last modified on 2015-02-25 at 11:19

788 lines, shouldn't be more than like an hour maybe.

the biggest fault of the game lies in the length of the final route. i mean, it goes in circles so many times and still doesn't even clear up everything. and iirc it also ends without clarifying the status of everyone, which is unlike their previous two games. with Hoshimemo and Irotoridori you could read the first game in each of the series and be content with everything.

anyways, here's to hoping for the FD announcement shortly after Akai Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai's release. while i didn't care much for Yuuki, i definitely wouldn't mind seeing after stories for some of the other heroines and maybe even a route for Hinata or Yuki.

2015 anime Charlotte's setting and ending is retardedly similar to this game.
