Why?

Hi, why was this entry deleted?

The postulated reason makes no sense, because there hundreds of entries in this db which aren't visual novels.Last modified on 2015-06-18 at 14:26

*sigh* This again? In cliffnotes:

- d15
- They are hybrids with enough VN content to be featured here.
- They shouldn't be here in the first place, but nobody reported them. If you find something like that, post it in t2108.

So yeah, the reasoning makes sense. The one not making any is you. How anyone can be surprised over non-VNs getting deleted form a VN-only database is truly beyond me.Last modified on 2015-06-18 at 14:50

I was the one who deleted the entry. The first M&L game was not a Vn in any shape or form. It is baffling to my how the game managed to stay here for so long without anybody reporting it, especially as it has an English translation.

Admittedly, I know nothing about its sequel, but I made a reasonable guess that it shouldn't be a VN either. Thus my given reason, which "makes no sense" to you: "Assuming not a VN".

Unless you can provide clear eveidence that the sequel is somehow a VN, when the first game had no VN features whatsoever, it stays deleted.

Well, Ningyou Tsukai 2 was my very first PC98 game completed in 2004, and I agree that VN part of this game is very small. Just like in Valkyrie, but I'm too lazy to search for it and test to be sure.

On the other hand... why do we have Variable Geo games, but don't have (at least earlier, X68000, PCE and FMT versions) of Asuka 120% fighting games? Both series have the same amount of VN elements - less than Guilty Gear or BlazBlue, but still...

Sorry guys, I often don't have enough time to take a look at the discussions. So three years later...

@warfoki Touché but then start deleting the other 10 or 15% of the database.

@beliar My point was and still is, why delete something others have put effort into. I agree that it shouldn't be listed as a VN and suggest that we should move these entries to a separate section.

@eiesoldar I see your point and agree with it. For me this is more of a Eroge DB than a mere VN DB. Taking that approach, a lot of genre mixes can be covered without those discussions.Last modified on 2018-12-07 at 12:19

That part of the sentence alone is so stupid I cannot even find a counterargument to it...

For me this is more of a Eroge DB than a mere VN DB.
And that right there is your problem. We have a whole dedicated thread t7442 for reporting and deleting the games that shouldn't be in the database. Simply put, this is strictly a VN and not eroge DB. Some people lamented that there is no dedicated database for non-VN eroges and they are waiting for their lord and saviour to create one. Maybe you will be this prophesied messiah, eh?

I dunno which leaves me more dumbfounded, that it took you three years to answer or that you still don't get the problem three years later...
