< report >Nutaku devs said that it'll come late this year or early next year. So put that cookie... I mean table down please. :P

As for me I've dropped LoV already. Next one's gonna be Hellfire Girls. I'll give Anglic Saga a go but competitive CCGs are not my thing. I usually suck at them, even among the best of circumstances.Last modified on 2015-07-27 at 00:41

< report >I gave Millennium Aigis a try (up to level 20 or so), which appears to be Nutaku's best game. It's one of the better free-to-play games I've played, but that's not saying much. The stamina mechanic is annoying and the artificial limits on the acquisition of better cards are annoying. The free-to-play model sucks, no matter how well it's dressed up. Also, while the gameplay is fairly engaging, the character development is basically non-existent.

Honestly, I doubt Nutaku will release anything I'd be interested in as long as they stick to the free-to-play model. There's far too many quality gameplay eroge in Japanese to be bashing my head against F2P paywall mechanics.Last modified on 2015-07-28 at 08:43

< report >F2P isn't the problem there, problem is that all sociage are like that, so they could be played with minimal effort. Aigis or Yoroihime is most gameplay you ever get, rest are click and watch things do itself, like FKG/Idolz/LoV and so on.

< report >It's not even a social networking game though--there's no social networking incentives or options at all if I remember correctly.

Though honestly I didn't like the grinding of earlier maps required for leveling either. If the stamina limit were removed that would still be an issue. I'd prefer character unlocks through challenge scenarios, actual character development...

...bah, I'm not sure why I'm disappointed that a browser game didn't meet my expectations. Did I mention the browser lag and incompatibilities were awful?Last modified on 2015-07-28 at 11:25

< report >I've just played Angelic Saga and really liked it so far. I suppose it will be real competition between this and aigis for my free time in next couple of days .. and Angelic Saga would win it most likely since at Aigis there is nothing to do now after current event is finished except to quickly burn stamina at daily missions.
While both games challenge player to some thinking and demand some level of intelligence - in Angelic Saga there are infinite pvp battles which are not requires stamina.

That's one thing I freaking hate. Would it kill the devs to make their game res bigger? How the hell am I supposed to read this crap-_-
In most browsers there is zoom function afaik. Usually I play with 150% zoom - it's not perfect since it is a bit pixelated but passable atleast.Last modified on 2015-07-28 at 23:55

< report >Nah, it would be a stamina bar that only allows you 100 clicks per day. Refill for the low price of $1.Last modified on 2015-08-11 at 12:02

< report >Better, you need to click like an idiot on your screen to fill a bar that allow you when fully filled to move to the next sentence. Each bar filled give you one gold and with ten you can get a free pass for the next sentence. 10$ for 109 gold.
Of course, the deeper you are in the story, the more you need to click, and near the end you need to click 100 times/sentence so better save some gold!

SO MUCH FUN!

I've been pushing to bring some visual novels over from Japan. Everlasting Summer is a test to see how much interest there is in the playerbase.

And no, we wouldn't sell them as freemium :P

< report >Using Leto as test case for actual Japanese VN is not particularly wise. Completely different audiences, different requirements and costs (you need actual translators and associated staff for JVN). Well, of course there's still possibility to just create abominations like Sakura Angel, but calling that "visual novels over from Japan" is not correct.

< report >I think diversifying from the Freemium model is a good idea, but I wonder if a web browser is the right platform for a visual novel. Given the poor performance with Millennium Aigis, I'm somewhat doubtful that this is the best platform to deliver games on, much less visual novels. You might want to consider a backup strategy that allows people to not use a browser. Browsers are constantly being updated and users fill them up with junk addons. Do you really want to deliver static content on a platform with multiple implementations that changes unpredictably? Doesn't seem cost-efficient to me.Last modified on 2015-08-12 at 21:13

< report >That reminded me that I have always wondered how much people appreciate what do The Asenheim Project. I am not sure to know what I could hate the most between a youteube translation and a browser-based one.

< report >So I decided to set down with my freetime today and try out Angelic Saga, I don't hate it but holy shit it takes like nearly 3 hours for my stamina to refill to max at level 27. That is quite the refill time considering my stamina in Pero refills to max in like 3 hours at level 50.

Outside of that the deck building seems meh and the combat seems to HEAVILY favor going first if you can drop something turn one. It might just be due to just not having the right cards but there does not seem to be a way to stop momentum once you get it.

< report >I've just migrated to jap Aigis now. It's like heaven comparing to stagnant swamp of english version with eternal sparse 1 per two month canceled/stalled events.
Tons of units, tons of content, awakening upgrade system, tons of events, tons of lolies, much-much easier start for novice player (they give for free platinum archer Bashira and later golden healer Iris - not like single Cypria at level 30.. also trading post allows to buy silver units by gold), they even have now apology event where they will give 2 sacred crystal as login bonus whole month 0_0 i.e. 60 free crystals = 12 free platinum summons ^^ Oh, and did I mention tons of lolies? ))
Also for english version player there isn't any difficulty in understanding story mode, interface and functions of the game; for understanding new skills, affection quotas and units descriptions - google translated jap. wikia is more than enough.. and even new events story is translated regularly at link ;)
And for my first premium pull I got necromancer Agnes with initial lich-like attack of 400+ and broken ability to spam tons of skelet tokens.. it made story mode replay easy like a breeze already )Last modified on 2015-08-14 at 13:27

It requires other silver units in exchange, in addition to gold.

tons of lolies

That is the main reason I moved to JP Aegis, I played Nutaku Aegis for about a week and it was night and day when I tried out JP Aegis. It's just so much more coupled with non stop events.

< report >Jp version has serious drawback though.. There are so many cool units that you just don't know what units you should keep and level up - alas, there is limited space in battle team.
In that sense eng version is much more simple and micromanagment there is more easy ) I mean to level up and upgrade fully even one unit is not easy task.. what about if you have tons of units (of various intricate classes - not usual elaines)?Last modified on 2015-08-14 at 19:56

< report >Also DMM hands out free crystals quite often. You should never really be hurting for space considering how many apology sacred crystals they hand out per month. You can spend a few of them every so often to increase space if you really must keep everything.
