Everlasting Summer should be listed under aliases. This is visible under the English ports.

I'm glad this entry is locked. Because no, titles of releases should not be added as alias.

Just to clarify, I believe it is an alias. It's not just English translation of the title.
The game was called like that long before English translation even started. Since before the full version release even. Many people even in Russian internet reference the game by that name, if it means anything.

Irrelevant. The only purpose of the alias field is to make it easier to search for alternative, non-official versions of the title. If one of these is already used as a release title, then also using it as an alias is redundant and unnecessary.

Tyciol, you have been registered on the site for five years already, but I have noticed that you are still making the most basic n00bie mistakes while doing your edits.
Maybe one of these days you should sit down and give the FAQ more than a passing glance.

Btw if a given alias is already used within the releases it will be deleted automatically by the script of VNDB itself...
So no harm would have been done.

Looking at the edit page.
List of alternative titles or abbreviations. One line for each alias. Can include both official (japanese/english) titles and unofficial titles used around net.
Titles that are listed in the releases should not be added here!
Maybe change the last line to something like "Releases are automatically used as aliases and should not be added here". Perhaps a bold text or different color to make the text easier to see. I know people should read everything, but... well if everybody read all the text, then this thread wouldn't exist.

The actual _reason_ for the alias field should be mentioned.
If people knew that the field is for search queries and NOT for giving info about the different titles a vn has, it would not be misused as often.

Even if it WAS for giving info about the different titles a VN has, copying release names into the aliases would still be unnecessary redundant information.

I see that Beskonechnoe leto does come up as a result when searching "Everlasting Summer", I guess that means it isn't needed to duplicate under releases too.

Official titles of releases should not be added here, as these are already listed in the releases.

I will try to read the FAQ closer, sometimes me miss bits like this and only harsh experience hammers the lesson home. Most of the 5yrs was lurking too confused to touch the place, it is only recently I've tried to do more.

Interesting bit about the script abyssaleros.

One aspect where it might not be redundant is if we hadn't yet created the release entry for the english port of the game. Would the script automatically delete the alias if the release is added later?

So as this entry is locked, how I can add staff to it?
I have created entry for ArseniXC already, who is BG artist for this.
(And Dreamtale who is scenario writer.)Last modified on 2016-05-25 at 13:58

Well, speaking about less known staff.
@vario, is there any particular reason why you avoided adding i-rab-u, Sergey Ivanov, Coyc, LolBot, Desufag?

And it worth mentioning that Abcb is 2010 demo (r6142) scenario writer only and Slo is related only for some preliminary concepts.

I wanted to add only the core staff such as scenario writers, artists etc. It just so happened that some of them also have other roles on the project like Veel or Dreamtale (Orika is here because I added her for other VNs).

Abcb and Slo are credited under "scenario" in the game credits while Dreamtale is the "main scenario writer".

Abcb and Slo are credited under "scenario" in the game credits while Dreamtale is the "main scenario writer"
I mean that we should mention their particular role in that "scenario".
Sergey Ivanov is probably the creator of OP movie.
LolBot is main programmer on the early stage and creator of that card minigame.
I dunno how prominent are the roles of i-rab-u (designer) and Desufag (programmer). Coyc (apparently that’s me) created old logo but more relevant for Labuda rather than Letota.

As current staff guidelines do not appreciate programmers, probably we still should add animator Sergey Ivanov (his homepage: link ).Last modified on 2016-05-25 at 17:35

ES's development is kind of... It's hard for an outsider to speak about the level of involvement of each writer. Did Dreamtale really rewrite the whole script? Or maybe there are still left some bits by abcb. And so on.

So I wanted to stick to the official credits and leave them like this. Otherwise, we probably need a clear proof instead of making assumptions based on rumors.

You can read the 2010 demo (abcb), leaked 2009 crap (slo) and compare them to Dreamtale version. Text is heavily rewritten in every edition. As reading all that stuff would be painfull experience, alternatively you can read the following article link where the involvement of several people including scenario writers is explained.

Yes, I've read the 2010 demo and I've seen concept documents. I mean, we know that the final version is different, but we don't know if it was completely (and by "completely" I mean every single sentence) rewritten by Dreamtale or not. Even your source is saying that abcb wrote more than there is in the demo. And we don't know about slo for sure too (again, there is "probably").

I guess, if the team decided to keep them credited as scenario writers, there is should be a reason, right? At least, I can't see a point in listing people who did nothing for the final product.

I understand that you can be right, but at this point there are so many lies, rumors and speculations that we can't say anything on that matter unless slo and abcb won't come here with a proof.

And here link Dreamtale says himself that there was no old scenario and he only used ideas which correspond to already existing CGs.
There are enough sources without rumors and whatever.

And AGAIN I am speaking about additional notes in their entries, not about excluding them from scenario section. I exactly say to mark the time frames when they actually were working on script.

Well, I'm not a mod here, so we need to know what they think will be the best decision.

By the way, we can add Azunelabs since he's also a creator of KONA Project and a page for him will be useful.

Well I’m not very knowlegeable about (and not particulary interested in) Russian devs and projects except ES, Labuda, and some stuff originated on IIchan.

Hello, they released the italian translation two days ago, I think you should add the italian flag to the game's page.
