< report >With Seinarukana out, what are going to joke about? Oh well, I guess at least there's Sumaga which is going to take another 6 years.

< report >You can continue to joke about Flowers as well, as the JP releases will be faster than the English ones.

< report >There is always that fabled Tsukihime remake that keeps surfacing and then disappearing too...

As for English releases, we can always joke about the missing Majikoi A characters. Oh, and the Konosora re-translation, we cannot forget about that either!

< report >Sumaga, AND Zoku Satsuriku no Django -Jigoku no Shoukinkubi-. The fact it wasn't mentioned speak for itself: dried of laughing.

< report >Oh right, Django. Yeah, I remember now. Maybe, just maybe, Muramasa will be announced after that game is done. Though, it really would be much faster for me to stop being lazy and learn Japanese.

Yeah, if I ever try to get a job at JAST, I will put in on my CV. "Look how slow I am, I will fit your team like a glove!" XD
It's not funny. -.-'

< report >So Sein should be out in like 2 months then. So when will Aselia hit steam so they can put Sein on it? Or are they going to skip greenlight with Sein and put it on steam first? Or is Sein not getting a simultaneous release?

Or is Sein not getting a simultaneous release?
I approached JAST for comment on Twitter. I do not expect a response.Last modified on 2016-03-17 at 00:40

< report >The scenario I think is most likely is that Seinarukana won't release on Steam until after Aselia does, there will probably be a period where they're working on the all-ages seinarukana stuff between the two, and JAST probably doesn't want to hold back the 18+ version to wait for the whole process. They were cool with releasing the Steam version of Romanesque late, after all.

< report >Didn't they not even have plans to release Romanesque on steam until just after it came out? I remember only hearing about it being porting after I played it.

Personally, a later steam release is fine for me(I have been waiting like 3~ years for this after all), but its just weird. We have one company doing simultaneous, one who does steam first and adult last, and apparently J-ast is going adult first steam last. It just seems off that after all the work on steam stuff J-ast has been doing that they are still releasing something on their site first without a steam version at the same time.Last modified on 2016-03-17 at 05:28

< report >Well, JAST did respond. Looks like the Steam release will be simultaneous... although from the wording it sounds like he's speculating, which is weird. Shouldn't the project manager be able to comment definitively?Last modified on 2016-03-17 at 07:03

< report >It's JAST. They don't know how long the whole disc printing stuff will take. And then there's also steam. There maybe an issue or two with them as well, perhaps waiting for them to give them their steam-site they can work with or whatever. Some things are out of your hand. Especially if you are a small company like JAST.

And then you have JAST being JAST. Who knows how far the new content is translated. Perhaps there are problems. If we look at flowers.. yeah. If I'd be at JAST, I'd be unsure as hell as well, if it works flawlessly. What has worked flawlessly for JAST in recent times? Right, nothing. Nothing at all.

< report >For a moment I was really hyped when I saw this in the fresh releases list, but then it turned out it was just the package edition...

I guess I should try and finish Dracu-Riot before the steam version comes out, because I have a feeling this one will eat up my free time like candy.

< report >The Dracu-Riot completion team has to finish translating it before you can finish reading it. :p I'm actually doing the editing for that team, so I'd honestly suggest just waiting until it's done-done.

ANYWAYS, Seinarukana download version just hit: linkLast modified on 2016-04-22 at 08:43

< report >So, Steam version in Fall 2016. Okay. I know it has additional text and stuff, but this feels.. like not a very good move. I guess it would've been silly to delay the whole thing till Fall as well, but eh.

< report >More or less. We don't know the actual age rating yet, but there will be no h-scenes.

< report >My guess is that JAST is spacing the releases apart so they can sell the Steam version for less and not cannibalize the sales of the adult version.

< report >I'm glad this is finally out. Found a couple lines with "font color:Nozomi" or something similar actually spelled out on the page. Nothing game breaking.

Story isn't my cup of tea so far though. It's slow going and every single character is filled to the brim with optimism, even after bad things happen. It seems rather childish, complete with an off-screen evil villian who kills people just for fun. Hopefully will improve after chapter 2.Last modified on 2016-04-23 at 06:11

< report >The story takes a *long* time to get going, and it's the game's weak point. It's definitely nowhere near as strong as Aselia's. I found the flashbacks and ancient souls much more interesting than the slice-of-life bits.

< report >Wait, so you say this one's story is much weaker than Aselia's...? But then what is there to play it for? Aselia was an incredibly slow and clunky hybrid saved by some really, really good storytelling. If you take that out, what is left? Has the gameplay improved enough to justify playing it?

I mean, I am going to play it sooner or later, because I am a fan of the original game (I have read all the endings, which was no small feat considering that it required me to finish the final effing map half a dozen times), but now I feel a little less enthusiastic about it...

< report >So is the gameplay any better than the first game's or am I going to have to hope someone makes a cheat program to make things go faster?
